Hindu Yoga guru Ramdev today alleged that he was called as a ‘bloody Indian’’ by a Christian Congress MP from Arunchal East Parliamentary constituencyof Arunachal Pradesh in public view during a yoga camp in the state, a charge denied by the lawmaker even as the incident drew condemnation from the BJP. This Congress MP, Ninong Ering is a Christian by faith.

“He is calling me bloody Indian…. In India I am being called a bloody Indian… this has happened for the first time,” Ramdev said pointing to Congress MP Ninong Ering, who was standing near the dais where the yoga guru was sitting during the camp at Pasighat in East Siang. This pro Christian MP of Congress party hails from Pashighat and connected with various Evangelical Programmes of North Eastern Hill Church Council.

However, the MP denied saying anything against Ramdev and claimed that he had only objected after the yoga guru leveled allegations of corruption against the Nehru-Gandhi family and the central government.

“This is very unfortunate. I never said anything against him… At the end of the session, he started speaking about politics.. so I said ‘Babaji, I think we should stick to yoga instead of going into politics’. I think he couldn’t hear me…. then his bodyguards came and pushed me,” Ering who represents Eastern Arunachal constituency said.

District Magistrate Onit Panyang said Education Minister Bosiram Siram had intervened and sought an apology from Ering.

The BJP was quick to condemn the alleged remarks made by the lawmaker, saying the MP had no right to sit in Parliament if he did not consider himself an Indian.

“Ering’s comments are utterly irresponsible and seditious. He has abused Baba Ramdev and called him a bloody Indian. We condemn this outburst. Ramdev is a revered figure,” BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.

The principal opposition also asked Ering if he considered himself an Indian.

“When he calls somebody a bloody Indian does Ering not recognise Arunachal Pradesh to be a part of India? If he does not consider himself an Indian then he has no right to sit in Parliament,” he said.

BJP demanded that the Congress and the government take “immediate action” against Ering.

The Congress, meanwhile, said that it was looking into the matter.

“Nobody should use uncivilised language in any walk of life,” Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed said but quickly added he would comment only after inquiring into the matter.

“We will inquire into it… We respect Baba Ramdev for his contribution in the field of yoga. We will comment once the concerned general secretary in-charge apprises us,” Ahmed said.

Post script : The BJP took strong exception to Congress MP from Arunachal Pradesh Ninong Ering “threatening” Baba Ramdev with dire consequences if he continued with his tirade against corruption.

Patanjali Yoga Peeth, Haridwar, media adviser SK Tijarabala claimed the MP also used abusive language.

“He is calling me bloody Indian…. In India I am being called a bloody Indian… This has happened for the first time,” said Ramdev, pointing to Ering, who stood near the dais.

“Ering’s comments are utterly irresponsible and seditious. He has abused Baba Ramdev. We condemn this outburst. Ramdev is a revered figure,” BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.

As regards calling Baba Ramdevji as “Bloody Indian” by Christian Congress MP, in India, the so-alled secular state, what do you expect other than such behaviour when the people especially the majority who are supposed to be Hindus are in deep sleep and indifferent? We should be prepared for such abuses when the political parties are interested only in getting power by fair or foul means and by dividing the country and the ruling party is even though may not be directly involved in conversions is allowing conversions even though it is the main cause for tension between the religious communities?

Baba Ramdev regularly courts controversies. He is in news for all the wrong reasons all the time. Gone are the days when he used to only talk about yog.

Before you launch on your attack against any other person, remember it’s only one person’s word against another. He may have said and that would indeed be unfortunate. But we don’t know.

You are not the only Hindus in the world. And nothing is happening to your religion so stop reacting like the world is out to get you.

Well, let’s say the MP was 100% wrong according to Saint Ramdev and your saintly article. But Ramdev is a man who is a yoga guru teaching others to behave well through yoga. He should have shown patience, he didn’t. So despite being a famous yoga teacher, he cannot follow his own teaching. He couldn’t forgive someone – instead lashes out! and you guys are after such a man who preaches what he does not practices. Good luck and congratulations!

The Kanchi Sankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati was arrested by the Govt on some unwarranted reasons. Days after his arrest, there came the SUNAMI and the country faced a unprecedented calamity.

It is the duty of the Government of India/State Govts to take care of the welfare of Saints/Mahatmas, but instead, the governing machinery in the country is always bent upon to tarnish the image of spiritual gurus/acharyas, temples, sanatana belief .

Normally spiritual gurus restrict their life to themselves and do not come out in public life nor in open politics. Whenever a spiritual soul come out of the secluded life and spend his entire time and energy amongst the citizens and for the cause of the citizens, it means that the governing machinery has failed to meet the needs of the citizens.

The incident happened to Yoga Rishi Ramdev is highly condemnable. It is the beginning of the end of the corrupt Congress regime not from Arunachal alone, but from the entire Bharat. The Congress Christian MP’s tongue should have been cut and sent to Sonia

Where did Ninong’s opposition go when muslim maulvis issues instructions from jama masjid on eve of election to support specific political party (always congress)? Ninong is the front face of western machineries involved in christian conversion. Baba Ramdev is exposing corruption and conversion and hence was targeted.

It’s really terrible to hear the news that none else than an MP uses savage and slang languages against a person who speaks against corruption ! What is happening in India !!! Is the myth true that some bastards and criminal or anti national elements have been clubed in the parliament ?
Ramdevji may be sounding harsh but we must remember for ourselves that the business gangs of political leaders have been looting the country.
Anti corruption drives, whoever launched, must be supported at any cost. Ramdevji’s dedication towards nation should not suspected or India will commit the biggest mistake in her history.
I am sure, corruption has always been the most terrible issue in India since though no political party ever took the matter too seriously for nation’s future, some only blackmailed the situation.
