Resolutions passed in the  third all-India Hindu Convention regarding Hindu Rashtra in Bharat for the protection, prosperity and peace of Global Hindus.

HjsPanaji | HJS Input |  28  June 2014::  Bharat and Nepal are self-materialised Hindu Nations. Every sect has a Nation that it calls its own. However, Hindus do not have a single Nation which they can call as their own. And hence, the Third All India Hindu Convention passed resolutions for the establishment of the Hindu Nation in Bharat and Nepal besides resolutions for a complete ban on Cow-slaughter, stopping insurgence from Bangladesh and finalisation of the policy for the protection of the Hindus world over. This information was given by the National Guide of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti H.H. Dr Charudatta Pingale during the press conference held here today. The conference was also attended by Prof. Madhav Bhattarai, the ‘Rajguru’ of Nepal and President of the Rashtriya Dharmasabha. Four hundred representatives of over 125 Hindu organisations from 20 States in Bharat as well as representatives from Bangladesh and Nepal participated in the Convention.

As per the ‘Common action Programme’ finalised during the Convention, it has been decided to organise 80 regional Conventions across 20 States and ‘Public Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabhas’ at 100 venues. H.H. Dr Pingale also informed that a decision has been taken during the Convention to work unitedly for providing assistance during the natural and man-induced calamities, and to implement a programme of ‘Self-defence training classes’ for strengthening of the Hindus.

Mr Ramesh Shinde, National Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti informed that the Convention also passed the resolutions as given ahead. The BJP Government, which assumed power in the Centre recently should legislate Acts –

1. Act banning cow-slaughter throughout the country,

2. Common Civil Code giving equal rights to all citizens in the country according to the judgement passed by the Supreme Court and

3. Act banning religious conversion in order to preserve Hindu race.

The demands raised in the Convention include

1. Act to be legislated for deporting 5 crore Bangladeshi intruders in Bharat.

2. Enact the bill to grant citizenship to Hindus displaced from Bangladesh and Pakistan.

3. Awarding stringent punishment to those sheltering and providing help to intruders from Bangladesh. Mr Anil Dhir, National Secretary-General of Bharat Raksha Manch said that Hindu organisations have decided on the programme to implement a crash campaign to deport Bangladeshi intruders on the basis of prevalent Acts. Mr Virendra Ichalkaranjikar, President of Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad informed that the Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad will be providing legal assistance and legal guidance for the programmes to be undertaken in the interest of the Nation and Dharma to devout Hindu organisations in 9 States.

All India Hindu Convention passes a resolution to declare Nepal as a Hindu Nation

Nepal has since time immemorial been identified as Vaidik Sanatan Hindu Nation in the form of a Devabhumi (Land of Deities), Shivbhumi (Land of Shiv), Tapobhumi (Land of penance), Dnyanbhumi (Land of knowledge) and Gorakshabumi (Land of protection of cows) under the rule of Deity Shri Pashupatinath; however, due to the anti-Hindu school of thought of the leftist, Nepal lost the status of the Hindu Nation and was declared a secular Nation. Presently, interim constitution 2063 is in force in Nepal, in which Secular republic status and Democracy have been made irreversible. Consequently, adversities on Dharma such as conversions, cow-slaughter have increased in Nepal. Besides, Nepal is on the verge of a religious-war. Eighty-two percent of the Hindus residing in Nepal are staunch followers of Sanatan Hindu Dharma. Most of them aspire that Nepal once again becomes a Hindu Nation. So that Nepal becomes Hindu Nation once again, this convention passes the resolution that,

1. This Convention supports morally, politically and at all the levels the local Hindus, who are making efforts so that Nepal be declared as a Hindu Nation.

2. Nepal’s Parliament should declare Nepal a Hindu Nation

3.The Secular Government of Bharat should not interfere directly or indirectly to crush the future movement to force the Nepal Government to declare Nepal as a Hindu Nation.

Resolutions passed in the third ‘All India Hindu Convention’ !

‘Uniform Civil Code’ should be enacted in the Nation.

The Convention demands that Common Civil Code according to the judgement passed by the Supreme Court should be enacted as soon as possible.

The Act to ban Cow-slaughter all over the country should be legislated

The third ‘All India Hindu Convention’ demands that ,

1. On immediate and strict implementation of the Act to ban cow-slaughter all over the country.

2. Strictly ban breeding, import and rearing of cows of foreign breed.

3. Cow should be declared as National animal.

‘Anti-conversion’ Act should be implemented in the Nation

The Convention proposes,

1. In view of the increase in the rate of religious conversion of Hindus all over Hindustan, Union Government should legislate effective law pertaining to religious conversion.

2. If anybody is converted by hatching a conspiracy, forcibly or through allurements, the individual responsible for the conversion should be given life term. If the converted individual happened to be minor, criminal responsible for the conversion should be awarded capital punishment.

3. Missionaries should not be allowed to perform social services, which may be conducive to religious conversion.

4. Christian missionaries should be banned from running orphanages or performing any other social service in tribal areas.

5. Other religious organisations should not distribute religious literature without the permission of the Government.

Above demands should be fulfilled immediately.

Bharat be declared a Hindu Nation !

Ever since the Creation of the Universe, Hindu Dharma is established for the welfare of the living beings. In order to preserve the line of thinking of Hindu Dharma, Hindu philosophy, Hindu Scriptures, Hindu culture, Hindu race and the Hindu Nation, the Hindus world over have to be awakened. Bharat should become motherland of the Hindus world over, so that the Hindus from every corner of the world can come to Bharat with full confidence, and no authority can deport them from this Holy land. Hence, we pass the resolution in this Convention that,

1. This Convention will take up whatever legal efforts that are required for declaring Bharat as Hindu Nation

2. This Convention is committed to giving all possible assistance to those, who will make efforts to make Bharat a Hindu Nation.

Rescue Ganga through ‘Ganga Manthan’ under the advice of Hindu saints and experts.

Posted by hinduexistence on June 13, 2014

Centre to hold ‘Ganga Manthan’ before finalizing its river rejuvenation blueprint.

Ganga Puja

PM Narendra Modi perform the ‘Ganga Puja’ religious ritual with Rajnath Sing and Amit Shah on the banks of the river Ganga in Varanasi.

The government will hold ‘Ganga Manthan’ here in the national Capital early next month to take their views along with suggestions of environmentalists, water conservationists, NGOs and local elected representatives.

Their views\suggestions will subsequently be shared with a Committee of Secretaries (CoS) who have been working on a comprehensive plan to develop the river.

“Idea of the ‘Ganga Manthan’ is to bring all concerned citizens, including ‘sadhus’ and ‘saints’, at one platform where they can exchange their views and suggest ways and means to rejuvenate the river,” said water resources minister Uma Bharti.

She said though this programme would be called ‘Ganga Manthan’, it will include discussions over Yamuna and other important rivers of the country which need to be cleaned and developed on priority basis.

Emphasizing that the river cannot remain clean unless every citizen cooperates, she said her ministry would approach the issue by making the Ganga rejuvenation plan a ‘Jan Andolan’ (people’s movement).

The ministry will soon launch a website on the river Ganga. “Suggestion for cleaning Ganga will be invited from all over the world through this website,” said the minister.

She said her ministry would not only get inspiration from how river Thames in London was kept clean but also from how people in some remote Rajasthan villages maintained river bank.

“I think modernization without westernization is possible,” she said.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad demands Rama Temple and Ban on Cow slaughter to Modi Govt.

Posted by hinduexistence on May 25, 2014

As Narendra Modi prepares to take over, VHP presents to Modi Govt its wishlist including Sri Rama Temple at Ayodhya, ban on Cow slaughter and inclusion of holistic Bhartiya culture in the educational curriculum.

As Modi prepares to take over, VHP presents its wishlist.

Singhal and ModiPTI | New Delhi | May 24, 2014:: As the Narendra Modi government prepares to take over, BJP’s affiliate outfit the Vishwa Hindu Parishad came out with a wishlist on Saturday ranging from Ram temple to law (read ‘ban’, Ed. HE.) on cow slaughter which it wants to be addressed within the constitutional framework.

Among other issues which it wants to be addressed are common civil code and saving the “enduring holistic culture” by incorporating its “vitals in the educational curriculum” and legal prohibition on “horizontal religious conversions”.

Addressing a news conference here, VHP’s international president Ashok Singhal said the absolute majority that BJP got under the leadership of Modi stands for triumph of the ideas and principles of Gandhiji’s “Ram rajya” (welfare state) and “suraajya” (good governance). To a question on construction of Ram temple, Singhal said that with the formation of a strong government at the centre, it would be definitely built “strongly”.

When pressed to specify a timeline, he said there was no need for impatience.

He claimed that the starting point for “temple development will be to ensure autonomy for Sri Ram Janmabhumi Mandir and the lakhs of Hindu temples taken over by the governments”.

Singhal listed several other issues which he said were related to Hindutva and could be worked out within the framework of the Indian Constitution.

Saving the Ganga from pollution and ensuring its perennial flow, law against cow slaughter, common civil code and saving the “enduring holistic culture” by incorporating its “vitals in the educational curriculum” and legal prohibition on “horizontal religious conversions” were demands which could be fulfilled through the Constitution, he said.

To a question on invitation extended to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was a “formality” which should be allowed to happen.

He added that India should have good behaviour towards its neighbours.   [Courtesy: PTI].

Modi’s swearing-in ceremony: Ayodhya seers ignored, feel disappointed

Ayodhya Seers IgnoredArshad Afzal Khan | TNN | Ayodhya | May 25, 2014:: Sadhus and senior mahants who spearheaded the Ram temple movement seem to have been given a royal snub by the PMO as most of them have not been invited in the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi.

This has come as a disappointment for more than a dozen seers who supported BJP in its temple movement and reportedly enjoyed lavish patronage during the tenure of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government. President of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas and a senior mentor of VHP and Ram temple movement Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, said: “It is very disheartening. Most of us have not been invited to Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.” Looking sad and crestfallen, Das did not express any further reaction over this “snub”.

Karsevak Puram, the local headquarters of VHP in Ayodhya, looks deserted and no invitation from the PMO has been received here. “The place that was a centre of saffron politics and the favourite destination of BJP leaders from across the country during the temple movement has been completely ignored,” regional convener of VHP at Ayodhya Mahant Brij Mohan Das said.

“We have received no invitation from the PMO for the swearing-in ceremony. We really don’t know what to say,” he added.

Ram Vilas Vedanti, a senior VHP leader, who has always been vocal about the Ram temple issue, has also not been invited. Talking to TOI, he said, “When Atal Bihari Vajpyee took the prime ministerial oath, senior sadhus from Ayodhya were invited there with full respect. I participated in Atalj’s swearing-in ceremony with a delegation of sadhus from Ayodhya, but this time we have been ignored. I don’t know why this is being done with us. It is very disappointing and sad.”

Chief priest of Ram Janmabhoomi temple Acharya Satyendra Das, said, “They have invited a lot of people from Banaras but Ayodhya didn’t find any place in the list of the invitees. It is a sorrow that the city of Ram is being ignored.”

Senior VHP leader and mahant of Dashrath Gaddi temple Mahant Brij Mohan Das said, “Ignoring Ayodhya is a blunder by the BJP. It has invited film stars, businessmen and even Nawaz Sharif. Why have they not invited any mahant or sadhu from the city of Ram?”  [Courtesy: TOI].

Even people at the adjacent Meer ghat and Shitla ghat were restricted to pass through the Rajendra Prasad ghat.

Narendra Modi received a rapturous welcome in Varanasi as he visited his constituency in a show of gratitude on Saturday, a day after the BJPs resounding victory in the Lok Sabha elections.

We want to establishment of ‘Ram Rajya’ again starting from the holy land of Uttar Pradesh: Narendra Modi.

Posted by hinduexistence on December 21, 2013

 Vijay Shankhanaad Rally Varanasi

We want to establishment of ‘Ram Rajya’ again starting from the holy land of Uttar Pradesh. Ganga Raksha, Samskruti Raksha,  Bhartiya Culture, Bharat Raksha and Krishi Sampannta are the main issues: Narendra Modi at Vijay Shankhnad rally in Varanasi.

NaMo UBrVaranasi | HE Mews Bureau | Dec 20, 2013:: After taking blessings of Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva, at the famous Sankatmochan Temple and Kashi Vishwanath Temple, respectively, Sri Narendra Modi urged for the re-establishment of ‘Ram Rajya’ from the holy land of Ayodhya-Kashi-Mathura in a mammoth gathering entitled  as ‘Vijay Shankhnad rally’ in the holy city of Varanasi on Friday,  Dec 20, 2013.

The BJP Prime Ministerial candidate highlighted the issues of Ganga Raksha (protection of Ganga), Samskruti Raksha (protection of Bhartiya Culture and Heritage), Bharat Raksha (protection of India) and Krishi Sampannta (development of Agriculture) with other issues connected with satae and national interest.

Addressing a public meeting in the temple town of Varanasi in the state of Uttar Pradesh , which sends the largest number of 80 MPs to the Lok Sabha,  Narendra Modi said if the people want they can see the return of ‘Ram Rajya’ which started from this land by voting for the right party.

“I have faith in the people of Uttar Pradesh. Your ancestors had established Ram Rajya. Had the people not been empowered, there would never have been Ram Rajya here. The state has all that is needed for Ram Rajya. The strength, tradition and will needed for establishing Ram Rajya is there in you,” Modi said.

“If still there are problems here it is because you have not chosen the right government. I have full faith that the day you do so, this (Ram Rajya) can become a reality,” he added.

Modi raised emotive issues, including the cleaning of the holy Ganga — referring to the river as “maa” (Mother), creating employment for locals involved in the handloom sector, farmer issues and employment opportunities for the youth and the poor.

He said his government in Gujarat had cleaned up the Sabarmati river, which used to be highly polluted a decade back, with the clean water of Narmada and asked why the same could not be done with river Ganga.

Modi also hit out at Congress and the Nehru-Gandhi family, blaming them for poverty, unemployment and corruption plaguing the country.

Hitting back at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over his charge that some parties make promises that lie outside the realm of possibility, Modi said he does not make empty promises and the BJP is going to the people with firmly grounded intentions.

“We are not the people who make empty promises. We have not come to you with promises but with intentions. The country is bored of promises. It is time for bringing forth well-grounded intentions,” Modi said.

He targeted Congress for making promises and then failing to deliver at a huge cost to the exchequer. Citing the example of Ganga Action Plan which was envisaged during the Prime Ministership of Rajiv Gandhi for cleaning the polluted river,

Modi said though thousands of crores have been spent the river is still dirty.

“I request the Prime Minister to share detailed accounts with people and answer them on how many thousands of crores of rupees were spent on the project to clean Ganga- an issue on which you (Congress) have tried to seek a new identity and asked for votes since Rajiv Gandhi’s time,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister had said in his address at the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting yesterday that some political parties make promises which “lie outside the realm of possibility” and his party should avoid it.

In another dig at Modi, he said Congress should not simply talk of firm leadership and decisiveness without talking of what the leadership will be used for and what decisions will be taken.

Modi retaliated today saying while people voted Congress to power hoping something will be done to clean the Ganga, but its waters have only become more polluted.

“Several plans and committees were formed but it seems money has been swept away like the waters of Ganga. In last five years, only three meetings were held and no work has been done.”

Flagging local issues and government’s failure to deal with them, BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate said while Congress and the SP government in Uttar Pradesh see the state as electorally crucial, his party is concerned about the problems being faced by the people, including farmers and the youth.

Reiterating his call for a creating a “Congress-free” India, Modi said the results of the recent assembly elections show that people have lost their patience and are aggressively demanding that this government should be thrown out. “Those who have exploited you should be uprooted as it is the root all problems in India,” he added.

He also alleged that “one family” is responsible for the pain being suffered by the people.

“As the (Loksabha) elections are nearing, Congress is talking repeatedly about poor…Had the party (Congress) really felt their pain, there would have been no poor in the country in the 45-year rule of a family”, Modi said while addressing “Vijay Shankhnad” rally here.

“If anyone is responsible for poverty, it’s a single family. It also shows in their mindset”, Modi said.

Modi also slammed Rahul Gandhi on the issue of poverty and SP MP Naresh Agarwal for saying a tea-seller cannot become the Prime Minister.

“I am suprised that they are openly saying a tea-seller cannot become the Prime Minister. If people give their blessings, then a weaver, a farm worker or even a shoeshine man can become the PM,” Modi said.

Before addressing the Vijay Shankhnaad Rally at Rajatalab Mirzamurad Khajuri in Varanasi today, Shri Narendra Modi, along with BJP President Rajnath Singh, took blessings of Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva, at the famous Sankatmochan Temple and Kashi Vishwanath Temple, respectively.

In his meeting with Prof. Vishwambhar Nath Mishra, the Mahanth of Sankatmochan temple, Shri Modi was apprised of issues including the plight of Ganga and the reality of Ganga Action Plan. At the Kashi Vishwanath temple, Shri Modi performed Dugdhabhishek of Lord Shiva under the guidance of Pt. Shrikant Sharma, who also gave him the traditional ang-vastram.

Dharma Sansad at Kumbh : Narendra Modi is projected as the Mascot of Hindutva in Real Politics. Resolutions passed towards making a Practical Hindu Rashtra.

Dharma Samsad 2013

Dharma Sansad at Kumbh :

Narendra Modi is projected as Prime Minister of Bharat and Mascot of Hindutva : Resolutions about Shri Ram Janmabhomi, Save Cow, Save Ganga, Muslim Appeasement through laveling Hindu Terrorism and Women Security have been passed.

Prayag Raj (Allahabad) | 7th Feb 2013 | Hindu Existence Correspondent :: Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Dharma Sansad at Maha Kumbh, 2013 has demanded that Narendra Modi be declared as BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate as a mascot of Hindutva to proceed this Nation as a Hindu Rashtra.

Out on an repercussion about rampant minority appeasements (both Muslims and Christians in a shield of ‘Secularism’)  and for the security threat to the majority people by Islamic and other subversive groups, Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh  and VHP aligned religious groups  are ready to promote Narendra Modi  as the Prime Ministerial candidate in  2014 Lok Sabha (Parliament) election.

.”To a query on whether projecting Narendra Modi as BJP’s prime ministerial candidate came up during his meeting the Sangh Parivar leaders, Singh quipped, “A decision on this matter can be taken only by the party parliamentary board.”

Rajnath said, “I have come here for a spiritual experience and not to hold any political discussions.”The poster boy of Hindutva – Narendra Modi –  will visit  Kumbh on February 12th.

VHP leader Ashok Singhal has told that the excitement around Modi for PM can be equated to the excitement that surrounded Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru as he became PM for the first time.

“When the first election took place, the masses wanted Nehru to be PM. After that something like that has never happened. But what I’m seeing now is that masses are nominating Modi to be PM. Something like this has never happened since Nehru,” Singhal said.

Reaffirming RSS commitment to Ram temple ,Rashtriya Swayamsevek Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday said Ram Mandir is not merely a demand for temple but it is linked to national pride.

“Why do we have to plead for a Ram Mandir at Ram Janambhoomi  in Ayodhya ? Because it’s an issue involving a temple? This is for re-establishing Indian identity,” he said. Mr Bhagwat will attend a gathering of about two lakh priests or sants (saints)  today, to brief them on next steps.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat backed VHP’s resolution for building a Ram temple in Ayodhya, saying its construction is like establishing the “Indian identity”.

“I have said that construction of the temple is like a movement to establish the country’s self identity. It is an identity of our country and we have to establish it,” he saidspeaking to reporters at the Kumbh Mela here.

While exchanging his views with the reporters, RSS Chief showed a clear inclination to Narendra Modi as the next projection for a Real Hindu Prime Minister of Bharat (India) and described ‘Modi is my friend’, Bhagawat skipped the matter for BJP for a final touch.

The Dhrama Sansad and the Santa Sammelan in Prayagraj (Allahabad) is being held at Maha Kumbha under the aegis of  Vishwa Hindu Parisad which have been passed five resolutions on Shri Ram Janmabhomi, Save Cow, Save Ganga, Muslim Appeasement through laveling Hindu Terrorism and Women Security as per agenda.

Such new wave Hindutva from  Prayag Kumbh in the sphere of election politics in Bharat is ready to flood the ignorant Hindu mass, which can speed up the reestablishment of a Hindu Rashtra in Bharat with a full protection of Go (Cow Progeny) – Ganga (Mother source of Indian rivers) – Gayatri (Power and Symbol of Vedic Heritage) and the construction of Sri Ram Janma Bhoomi Temple at Ayodhya. The self reliance of Hindutva with Swadeshi economy discarding all corruptions are obviously the tools of Hindu Empowerment in Bharat  as endorsed by various Hindu saints and organisations present in the Kumba Mela which is the biggest religious congregation in the world.

In other Hindu organisations and forums like Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Sanatan Sanstha, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Patanjai Yog Peeth, Art of Living and Hindu Existence which are also present in the Kumbh Mela right now. These organisations  have also surfaced and propagated about the various issues of Hindutva like Temple Property Accusation by Govt., Govt Conspiracy to declare Hindu Rituals as superstitions (Andha Shraddha Bill), threat of Love Jihad, Islamic infiltration from neighboring Muslim states,  Christian Conversion, Jihadi and Anti-Indian Activism in Mosques and Islamic Institutions, Targeted Communal Violence Bill,  Returning Black Money from foreign Banks, End of Corruption,  revival of Bharatiya Agronomy, infusing Dharmik Siksha in Education system and other matters related to make a strong Hindu Rashtra (Nation-State) in Bharat.

Dear Son and Daughters of Ma Bharati and my patriotic Friends,

All of you perhaps have already heard that Smt. Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister, West Bengal banned the public speech, meeting, miking etc. of Sushri Uma Bharati Ji in the event of Ganga Samagra Yatra in West Bengal.

Umaji is holding this yatra  to ensure a heritage status for river Ganga with maintaining its purity and pollution free unchecked flow. The 39-day-long yatra is starting on September 21 from Ganga Sagar and will end at Gangotri on October 28. This is purely a cultural programme to generate an awareness of public to Save Ganga as their duties and responsibilities. It is not a political programme at all.

Only to appease the Minority Muslim people of West Bengal (actually now they are in driving seat), Mamata Banerjee banned the meeting, public speaking in mike etc. for this cultural progamme led by a saffron clad Hindu woman saint, though she had her political background unrelated with the present programme.

Umaji appealed the Govt. of West Bengal to lift this type of irrational ban, but the State authorities are putting harder difficulties  to stop this programme for Save Ganga Cause. Umaji is firm to complete her programme in West Bengal at any cost.

This is very bad in law that the fundamental rights of one’s freedom of religion, speech, equality etc. are grossly hampered in this violating motive of the West Bengal Govt. in a series of restrictions to the Ganga Samagra Yatra within this State.  This is highly Condemnable.

In this connection,  I earnestly appeal all the authorities in the above States and all the Ganga lover people, you also retaliate over this matter by not allowing Mamata Banerjee in your states in the same manner. Otherwise, the insanity of Mamata Banerjee will increase day by day and  she will continue the humiliation of Hindutva in many ways.

Jai Shri Ram. Har Har Gange.

Sincerely yours,

Upananda Brahmachari.

Yeshi, a resident of north Delhi’s Majnu Ka Tila, set himself on fire on Monday at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar where more than 100 Tibetans were protesting against Hu’s visit here for the BRICS summit. Yeshi was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital with 90 percent burn injuries. He had poured fuel on himself and set himself alight before running towards the crowd where he collapsed. The Chinese president will be arriving in India on Wednesday for the BRICS summit of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Hu Jintao visit triggers protests in McLeodganj

Dalai Lama in His Exile at Dhramshala (McLeodganj) in India.

DHARAMSHALA | INDIA | TNN | Mar 29, 2012, 05.30AM IST:Arrival of Hu Jintao in Delhi on Wednesday triggered a series of activities inMcLeodganj, which is the nerve center for various Tibetan groups working across the globe and home to Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama.

Most of the Tibetan shops remained closed for the whole day and special prayers were organized in the main temple by various Tibetan groups, which later concluded with candle light vigils. Tibetan parliamentarians and other officials of the government-in-exile attended prayers in the late evening organized by the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA).

Meanwhile, the Tibetan who carried out self-immolation in Delhi a day earlier succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday morning, following which rallies were held in the town. Tibetans demanded that the dead body be cremated in McLeodganj. “We want that the body of the courageous Tibetan activist be cremated here with full respect as a martyr. He sacrificed his life for the Tibetan cause and we want that the Indian leaders and representatives of other countries should also raise the Tibetan cause at the BRIC summit,” said Dhoundhup Yeshi, a Tibetan activist.

Tibetans also condemned the arrest of protesters in Delhi by the police and demanded their immediate release.

Jintao responsible for creating mess: Speaker

Speaker of the Tibetan parliament-in-exile Penpa Tsering claimed that Hu Jinato was responsible for leaving minority nationalities in a mess and therefore it should be his responsibility to resolve the issue during the remaining period of his presidency. Otherwise he will go down as one of the most irresponsible leaders in the Chinese history. Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, he said, “Taking opportunity of the visit of President Hu Jintao to India, Tibetan Parliament-in-exile wish to remind all BRICS members that the situation in Tibet continues to deteriorate and China continue to implement inhuman brutal methods to suppress peaceful Tibetans inside Tibet. We urge the BRICS leaders to raise the issue of Tibet with president Hu Jintao along with Syria and Iran,” he added.

Chinese President’s visit to Delhi provokes Tibetan protests

New Delhi | NDTV Correspondent, March 28, 2012 18:05 IST :  China’s president, Hu Jintao, has arrived in Delhi for the fourth BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit. Worried about protests, the police has been detaining Tibetan activists in the capital, provoking strong criticism.

Here are five new facts on the story:

1) A man who set himself on fire in Delhi on Monday at a rally died in hospital this morning. Jamphel Yeshi was 27.

2) Around 1200 cops have been posted around the hotels where The Chinese premier and the delegation will be staying. Earlier, the protesters had attempted to storm Hotel Oberoi in Delhi where Chinese premiere Hu Jintao is staying. Police have arrested the protesters. This morning, the police detained 100 activists who were protesting against Hu’s visit at the United Nations office. Over 150 Tibetans have been taken in to preventive custody during the protests today. The Tibetan Youth Congress members were submitting a memorandum to embassies of all nations participating in the BRICS summit. Protests were also held at Khan Market and Jantar Mantar. There is heavy police presence in these areas.

3) The police removed activist-poet Tenzin Tsundue from a seminar yesterday at the India habitat Centre. The police is keeping a tight vigil in areas in Delhi with high Tibetan population to ensure that young Tibetans don’t come out of their homes to protest.

4) China has accused the Dalai Lama of “masterminding” self-immolation bids earlier this week. At least 29 Tibetans, many of them Buddhist monks and nuns, have set themselves on fire in Tibet demanding freedom for their homeland.

5) The Chinese President will attend the BRICS summit which looks at encouraging trade among member-nations. He will also hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Manmohan. The Chinese president is accompanied by a high-profile delegation comprising Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, State Councillor Dai Bingguo, senior ministers and business leaders.

Hindu Existence Demand:

(1) Free Tibet immediately. Stop oppression upon Tibetan people. Declare Dalai Lama as the Highest Spiritual Head of Tibet.

(2) Stop aggression in Arunachal (Formerly NEFA) & Aksai China (Actually Akshay Chinnah of  Indian Possession) and hand over encroached lands to India.

(3) Stop joint venture with Pakistan to harm Indian people. Stop NSB-ISI joint  espionage activities in India.

(4) Stop propagation of Fake South Tibet in Arunachal.

(5) Stop divert/thieve of Brahmaputra (Tsangpo) water including illegal damage of a heritage river.

(6) Why the Brahmaputra was dried up overnight at Pashighat Town?  Return the water of Brahmaputra in Pasighat town in East Siang, Arunachal Pradesh. Stop Dam at Zangmu Dam at source head of Tsangpo River.

Ganga activist Swami Gyan Swaroop Sanand ends fast. GOI keen to take care the “Save Ganga Mission”?

Ganga activist Swami Gyan Swaroop Sanand (Prof. G D Agrawal) ends fast.

Swami Gyan Swaroop Sanad Ji (Prof G D Agarwal) renowned Save Ganga Saint - Enviornment Activist and Ex Professor of IIT Kanpur sitting in the middle.

Environment scientist – Ganga activist Swami Gyan Swaroop Sanand (Prof G D Agrawal) today broke his fast after the government promised to convene the meeting of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh-led National Ganga River Basin Authority (NGRBA) next month. Agrawal, who was on a fast-unto-death since March 8 to press for cleaning of Ganga, decided to take water and liquid food after he was informed about the government’s decision to convene the meeting of NGRBA on April 17 by Union ministers Sriprakash Jaiswal and V Narayanasamy. “I will keep taking liquid but will not consume any solid food till any concrete work happens for cleaning of Ganga river,” the 80-year-old activist told reporters here at AIIMS where he was admitted two days ago in a critical condition. Demanding that the issue of Ganga should be put in the “priority list” of government, Agrawal said, “I am not in condition to wait too long. I would be happy if it happens before the Prayag Kumbh scheduled to take place in January, 2013.” Attacking the government’s slow approach in preserving the river, he said, “All river can not be placed in the same category with Ganga. Scientific studies have proven that Ganga water has several qualities. But government’s attitude can be ascertained as one minister increases the (rail) fare and the other reduces it.” The biggest problem faced by Ganga is that 90 per cent of its “blood” (water) is sucked by dams and other illegal activities taking place at its banks, Agrawal, who is also known as Swami Gyanswaroop Sanand, said. Stating that the Prime Minister has taken a note of the Sanand’s fast, Jaiswal said, “A consensus emerged that the next meeting of NGRBA will take place in New Delhi on April 17 and a delegation of Ganga Seva Abhiyanam will be invited as special invitee there.” The agenda proposed by Ganga Seva Abhiyanam will be discussed in the NGRBA meeting and it shall be placed for discussion on priority, the minister said.

A curious mix of green and saffron.

Dinesh C. Sharma  | New Delhi, March 22, 2012 | India Today.

Swami Sananda praying with folded arms to Ganga in Varanasi last week, before he was brought to Delhi to break his fast.

It may sound a bit strange but that’s what is happening in India of the twenty first century. The green politics is getting a dose of saffron or you may say saffron politics is acquiring a green hue. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) – the fountainhead of all Hindu politics in the country – passed a resolution at its Pratinidhi Sabha in Nagpur last week, criticising the draft National Water Policy 2012 on key ecological and economic grounds.

The arguments put forth in the resolution would gladden the hearts of any environmentalist, but for the excessive focus on maintaining the sacredness of ‘rivers like Ganga and Yamuna’ by cleaning them up and the need to revive the ancient Saraswati. At the same time, it is ironical to see that holy men and women have had to fight the now-ousted BJP government in Uttarakhand to retain the sacredness of the very same Ganga and its tributaries.

One of them, Swami Nigamanand, even had to give his life up fighting against illegal mining in the Ganga riverbed allegedly by a company owned by a RSS member.

Another swami, Gyanswarup Sanand, a former professor at IIT Kanpur, is still on hunger strike fighting for stopping work on all hydroelectric projects in Himalayan river valleys. He had to be forcibly shifted from Varanasi to Delhi this week.

A closely linked issue, which has cropped up once again thanks to a recent judgment of the Supreme Court, is the interlinking of rivers. It was a pet project of the BJP-led NDA government in early 2002 and was wholeheartedly supported by the saffron brigade.

Swami Nigamanand gave his life up fighting illegal mining.

The interlinking was seen as a nationalist project. The ecological fallout of constructing a series of dams across the country to interlink rivers was conveniently overlooked. Hopefully, at least now the saffron parties and their wings will now be able to appreciate green side of this grandiose plan which was vocally supported by President APJ Abdul Kalam then.

One can have no quarrel with anyone taking up any environmental issue, be it river pollution, impact of hydroelectric dams or the need for water conservation. But support to green causes should not be selective and blinkered.

That’s what bothers mainstream environmentalists. If RSS is against market-based mechanism for water pricing, as it professes in its latest resolution, why are states run by its political wing – the BJP – pursuing this very approach most aggressively?

The Congress stand too seems to be ambivalent when it comes to the Ganga. In response to the fast of Swami Gyanswarup two years back, the central government stopped work on a major hydroelectric project in the Alaknanda valley citing the need to preserve holiness of the Ganga. Yet, the same government continues to give green clearances in other river valleys in the state and constantly ignores pollution in the river flowing in the plains.

Is the river less sacred in the plains or is the reverence shown by the government limited to just one state? Green and saffron can certainly co-exist but let the green override all narrow political concerns.

Another Ganga devotee begins fast unto death in Varanasi.

Varanasi | Mar 23, 2012 | Star News: On the 15th day of his fast-unto-death for the Ganga, Swami Gyan Swarup Sanand (noted environmentalist Prof GD Agrawal) ended his fast in New Delhi after he received a written agreement from the Government of India on Friday. He, however, made it clear that he had not ended his ‘tapasya’ (austerity) and would take only liquid food till the promises were fulfilled.

In the meantime, in continuation with the ‘Ganga Tapasya’, another Ganga devotee in Varanasi, Ganga Premi Bhikshu, began a fast unto death sans water at Kedhar Ghat on Friday.

Swami Sanand admitted to ICU after health worsens

TNN | Mar 19, 2012 | TOI

VARANASI: The district administration shifted scientist-turned-seer Swami Gyan Swarup Sanand to the ICU of SSL Hospital of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) from the emergency ward of SPG Divisional Hospital despite his protest on Sunday afternoon. On Sunday, Swami Sanand’s fastunto-death stir entered in its 10th day. He had already stopped taking food a month back, and also gave up consuming water 10 days back. As a precaution, the district administration had admitted him to the SPG Hospital where he was given intravenous drugs to save his life.

During his stay at SPG Hospital, Union minister Sriprakash Jaiswal had met him as prime minister’s messenger while Union environment minister Jayanti Natrajan had also sent him a letter through district administration. But the seer remained rigid on his stand that until the central government does something meaningful to ensure ‘aviral’ (undisrupted) and ‘nirmal’ (clean) flow of Ganga, he would continue his ‘tapasya’. As he failed to get any desired reply from the Central government, he stopped taking intravenous drugs from Saturday evening.  Read details…..

Swami Sanand removes saline drip

TNN | Mar 17, 2012 | TOI

VARANASI: After failing to get a positive response from the Central government, Swami Gyan Swarup Sanand (noted environmentalist Prof GD Agrawal), who has been on ‘nirjal’ fast unto death stir for Ganga for the past nine days, removed saline drip on Saturday. He made it clear that his ‘tapasya’ (austerity) for the Ganga would continue till any clear cut decision was not taken by the government.

After going without food for a month at Haridwar, Swami Sanand left water here on March 9 to press the Central government for doing something meaningful to ensure undisrupted (Aviral) and clean (nirmal) flow of the Ganga. As a precautionary measure, the district administration admitted him to the Shiv Prasad Gupta Hospital. Union minister Sriprakash Jaiswal met Swami as a messenger of the Prime Minister, who is the chairman of the National Ganga River Basin Authority (NGRBA). But, the meeting failed to reach any decision and deadlock continued. Swami had also warned that he would remove the saline drip on March 17 if government did not respond positively by 5pm. A new rishi to save the Ganga

Determined to sacrifice his life for the Ganga

Environmentalist Prof. GD Agrawal now Swami Gyan Swarup Sanand , who left taking even water from Friday the 9th March 2012, is determined to sacrifice his life for the River Ganga (गंगा) . He refused the requests and arguments of local administrative officials regarding a rethink on his decision. “It is not the question of my life, but it is a matter of pain and suffering of Mother Ganga,” he said, putting aside the request for stopping the fast.

Swami Sanand, who had stopped taking food and was just living on water for a month (from February 8 to March 8), left even water on Friday. He lost some weight on Saturday. According to the records of his medical check up, he lost around 1/2kg body weight in the past 24 hours. A  medical team led by additional chief medical officer RP Tiwari examined his health on Saturday afternoon. His blood pressure was 142/72 while his pulse rate was 82 and weight was 49.5kg. Local administrative and police officials, including the additional district magistrate Ram Yagya Mishra and SP  MS Chauhan, met him and requested him to stop his fast unto death.
“In case of his (Swami Sanand) death, another devotee will take over and
the sequence will continue till the goal is achieved,” said Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, the coordinator of Ganga Sewa Abhiyanam
and disciple of Shankaracharya of Jyotish and Dwarka Sharda Peeth Swami
Swarupanand Saraswati. He forwarded a letter to the Prime Minister through local administration on Saturday, requesting immediate intervention.
According to him, an open letter to the PM was already sent on January 3, 2012 drawing his attention to main concerns. Due respect, importance and
status of a national symbol was not being accorded to the Ganga in spite of her being designated as the National River. The major concerns include unsatisfactory and ineffective functioning of the National Ganga River Basin Authority, continuing construction work on dams/barrages/tunnels which would totally destroy the natural flow regimes and quality of the river water, nod to a new 300MW hydel project, total failure of regulatory agencies in controlling discharge of urban and industrial wastes into the Ganga and complete lack of sensitivity of the government on these issue.
