NON STOP ATTACKS ON HINDUS IN BANGLADESH…..

Tension brewing in Brahmanbaria as 10 houses of Hindus torched by fanatic Islamists in fresh attacks.

Atul Brahmachari | HENB | Dhaka | Nov 5, 2016:: Suspected Muslim miscreants set fire to six dwelling structures of the Hindu community in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district early Friday, escalating tension further in the trouble-hit upazila. The number of Hindus houses so torched by the fanatic gangs could raise to 10 as Ripon Dey, youth Hindu leader of Bangladesh National Hindu Grand Alliance ( Bangladesh Jatiyo Hindu Mahajot) claimed as such in an interview in Ekattor TV Channel

The incident took place just four-five days after the attacks on temples, houses and business establishments of the Hindu community in the upazila during the Diwali and Kalipuja.

Locals said masked miscreants set fire to the cowshed of Phul Kishore Sarkar, three kitchen rooms of Mrinal Kanti Sarkar and Amar Deb, an abandoned house of Santu Kabiraj and a house of Sagar Das around 4:00am.

Miscreants set fire at least six Hindu houses in a predawn attack yesterday in central Brahmanbarhia district’s Nasirnagar, the place where at least fifteen temples and more than 20 houses were vandalised after a Facebook post deemed offensive to Islam sparked outrage in the country.

“They (miscreants) fled the scene immediately after torching the houses and two small temples were also damaged,” a police officer told HENB.

Many Hindu families have deserted their houses after the attacks on temples and have taken refuge in other areas.

Tensions have escalated in the neighbourhood after the fresh assault yesterday.

Police in overnight drives detained 33 persons for their alleged involvement in the synchronised Jihadi attacks on Hindus in Brahmanbaria on October 30.

With this, police has detained a total of 44 people in connection with the attack, Mizanur Rahman, superintendent of Brahmanbaria police, told the media.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Hindu protesters yesterday rallied in the capital demanding stern action against perpetrators of attacks on Hindus by fanatic Muslim elements.

Several hundred Hindu youths joined by Muslims staged a street protest at central Dhaka’s Shahbagh Square.

Several political and rights groups also held another rally in front of the National Press Club demanding immediate and stern actions against the culprits.

The protesters at Shahbagh area enforced a blockade on the busy streets around the area for more than half an hour and forced ruling Awami League’s joint general secretary Mahbul Alam Hanif to get out of his car, stuck in barricade, and express solidarity with them.

The protesters also demanded resignation of a minister who had earlier accused journalists of “exaggerating” the Nasirnagar attacks.

“(Livestock) Minister Sayedul Haque was in the area just few days after the (Sunday) attacks while a fresh attack took place after he visited the scene,” general secretary of Bangladesh Puja Celebrations Committee said.

The protests yesterday prompted newly elected Awami League general secretary and Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader to reiterate the government’s tougher stance against the culprits promising to bring them to justice quickly.

“Stern punitive actions await the attackers as (Prime Minister) Sheikh Hasina-led government has taken a tough position to this end,” he said at a function of ethnic minority community in Dhaka.

He urged the Hindus not to consider themselves as a minority group and said “the government is with you”.

But, the Hindu organisations in Bangladesh described all these as stunt of Awami League as many of Awami League local leaders and cadres were also engaged in many places while Hindus were attacked ruthlessly.

As a matter of fact, attacks and atrocities upon Hindus in Bangladesh is gradually increasing in Awami regimen as it was happened in the BNP rule in Bangladesh. The Hindus – Buddhist – Christian – Minorities are in a very vulnerable position in Bangladesh.

Recently, Bangladesh Minister Mohammad Sayedul Haque (Minister for Fisheries and Livestock) described Hindus as “Maluyaner Bachha (মালাউনের বাচ্চা)”  (children of Malaun i.e. inferior to Kafirs)  in one of his recent communal speeches aggrieving the desperate Hindu community further.

In Bangladesh, Islamic elements in both Awami League and BNP are attacking Hindus to make Bangladesh Hindus. At the sametime, the Islam influenced political parties in Bangladesh are describing all these attacks on Hindus as stray cases and not serious in nature.

What is most embarrasing, the Indian Govt. headed by PM Modi, his External Minister Sushma Swaraj are both ignoring all these attacks on Bangladesh minority Hindus for an unknown reason!
