14-yr-old schoolgirl explores magic of ‘Om’ in Kolkata Regional Science & Technology Congress-2016.

A Chakraborty | Agencies | Kolkata | Dec 21, 2016::  With her outstanding discovery of the impact of the ‘Om’ sound in reducing fatigue,  a 14-year-old schoolgirl has wowed scientists of Kolkata and WB. Anwesha Roy Chowdhury, a Class-IX student of Adamas World School, topped the recently held 1st Regional Science & Technology Congress-2016 (Presidency Division)+ organized by the WB state government.

Anwesha’s findings that chanting of ‘Om’ increases oxygen level in blood and lowers carbon dioxide and lactic acid, which reduces the level of fatigue, were vetted by physics and physiology professors of Calcutta University and Jadavpur University. Debashish Bandopadhyay, head of the department of physiology, Calcutta University, told TOI, “Anwesha’s project is innovative, it’s quite flawless and convincing.”

The research of Kolkata student on application ‘Om’ scientifically and its success in stress and fatigue management, has been enlisted in outstanding papers [id 84669033] in Physiology section of 1st Regional Science & Technology Congress-2016 (RSTC), Presidency Division, West Bengal+.

An-we-sha, who likes to spell her name thus, since anweshan in Bengal means ‘search’, told TOI, “I found that sounds with a particular frequency, if heard or recited right, raises the level of neurotransmitters and hormones like serotonin, dopamine, DHEA etc. Because of their vasodilatory actions, the oxygen level in blood soars. It also produces less lactic acid and allows the person to act without fatigue.”

“In the last decade, the body of research on workout music has swelled considerably, helping psychologists refine their ideas about why exercise and music are such an effective pairing. But this specific finding on the ‘Om’ sound is impressive,” said Rina Venkataraman, secretary, state science and technology department.

“No one has ever pin-pointed on the ‘Om’ sound and conducted such comprehensive experiments on its use,” Dipankar Das, senior scientist, state science and technology department, said during a workshop conducted on 165 students who were shortlisted for the statewide Science Congress recently.

It all began when Anwesha visited Uttarakhand, where she “found some priests carrying water from Bageshwar to Kedarnath, covering 68km every day, without tiring. The priests sang a tune all along”. There was no way she could reproduce the same mantra for her experiments. So Anwesha started looking for a similar tune.

“Finally, a tune with 430+ Hz frequency clicked. In five experiments in various laboratories, I measured the oxygen and carbon dioxide levels of 17 adults (all on the staff of BITM) while listening to the tune for 30 minutes, and there was an increase of oxygen level and decrease in carbon dioxide in their bodies,” Anwesha said.

As an authors of outstanding papers, Anwesha attended the Author’s Workshop on 02.12.16 at the Sonnet Hotel, Salt Lake and already sent her full paper to the authority of RSTC.

Anwesha with others selected as outstanding, will present their papers in the 24th West Bengal State Science & Technology Congress, 2017 scheduled to be held at Science City, Kolkata on 28th February, 2017 onwards.

Kick on the face of the “genetically altered” Hindu rationalists:
    By Subhas Mitra

14 yr old school girl from Kolkata wanted to understand the secret of the physical strength of the Hindu priests who regularly caries water for the Temple(s) at Hardwar (India) from 68 KM away. She noted they sing /chant certain mantra all along the way. She then discovered “OUM” at 430+ Hz frequencies for 30 minutes increases O2 level and decreases CO2.
For pseudo-secular hybrid Hindus, ‘rationality ‘is to hate Hinduism. But to me it seems “it is a psychological quest to find truth through materialistic approach in the existence, belief, practices and justice deliverance”. But perhaps because of prolong subjugation; suppression & humiliation, there became alteration in their thought process due to generation wise effects of “Inferiority complex”. They start believing in the fault in their forefathers, culture, belief & practice. Thus they say:
    1. Blood from the stone statue of Christ is science BUT chanting mantras are superstition.
    2. Muslims do not eat pork is science BUT Hindus do not eat beef is superstition.
    3. One upper caste Hindu ‘urinated’ on his family “deity” and soon became famous to be appointed as chairman of FTII.
For them this is one “big kick” by a Scholl girl from the land of highly infected hybrid Hindus.
