B Upendran | HENB | Thrissur | Feb 13, 2017:: Again a RSS linked  BJP worker named Nirmal (20 yrs) was allegedly hacked to death by CPM goons during a Hindu festival at Kokkulangara temple near the city around midnight on Sunday. It is alleged that many of CPM goons present in the murder scene had connection with a Jihadi group.

Though Nirmal was rushed to hospital, his life could not be saved due to profuse bleeding. Another BJP worker, Mithun, is undergoing treatment.

Following the gruesome murder of its worker, the BJP and Sangh Parivar has called for a ‘dawn to dusk’ hartal in Thrissur on Monday.

Thrissur is a politically sensitive region with a history of red-saffron violence.

This comes as conflict between the CPM and the BJP-RSS has been escalating over the past few months. BJP’s Kerala vice president P P Vava lost eye sight in his left eye and eight other party workers after getting injured a clash with police during a protest earlier this month.

Earlier on January 18, a BJP activist Ezhuthon Santhosh was allegedly murdered by some CPM workers from Dharmadom. Police on January 20, had taken five CPM workers into custody.

As per latest report, normal life of Thrissur was interrupted due to BJP’s Bandh today.
