Various programmes to commemorate Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation ceremony on June 6.

Hindupad Padshahi Founder Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation ceremony will be commemorated on June 6 in many places.

Sandip Marathe | HENB | Mumbai | June 4, 2017:: On 6th June 1674, Maharaja Shivaji’s coronation ceremony was performed at Raigad fort according to the shastras by Vishweshwar, also called Gaga Bhatta, of Varanasi, a master of the four Vedas, the six philosophies and all the Hindu scriptures. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj established the ‘Hindupad Padshahi’ (Hindu Rajya) under the guidance of his Guru (mentor) Samarth Swami Ramdas.

Various programmes have been taken to commemorate the historical commemoration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj through out Maharashtra.

Our Nagpur correspondent reports, Shivrajyabhishek Sohala Samiti, has organised various programmes to commemorate coronation ceremony of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, on and from June 4. A procession of replicas of Shivaji Maharaj’s forts, will be taken out at 6 pm from his statue in Mahal.

Dr Shivratna Shete from Solapur will deliver lecture on Shivaji Maharaj, at Shiksha Sahakari Bank hall, at 6.30 pm on June 5. On June 6, exhibition of replicas of forts will be inaugurated by Aniket Yadav from Pune and Atul Guru, at 7 pm.

A palanquin procession will be held at 6 pm on June 7, in which dhol-tasha groups will offer salute to Shivaji Maharaj. Demos of sports of his period will be presented by Chimasaheb Bhonsale Pratishthan and Tajraj Hira Akhada.

Our Kholapur correspondent reports, the Akhil Bhartiya Shivrajyabhishek Mahostav committee has organised a special programme on the occasion of 344th coronation ceremony of King Shivaji at Raigad fort on June 5 and June 6.

The organiser Fattesignh Savant on Wednesday said, “We are expecting around a lakh followers of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to gather for the two-day event. Followers from across the state and neighbouring states are expected to attend the programme. We have organised a special discussion on the conservation of Raigad fort on June 05 at 6.30 pm.”

He added, “The coronation ceremony will begin at 10 am on June 6 which will be followed by a religious ritual at the statue of Shivaji Maharaj. The demand to declare coronation ceremony as a national festival has been gaining massive support from people and we hope that our demands are heard soon.”

Hundreds of such programmes are finalized to take place throughout Maharashtra to celebrate Chatrapati Shivaji’s great coronation.
