Kailash Mansarovar yatra through Nathu La cancelled. From next year China may cancel the entire Kailash Mansarovar yatra pilgrims from India.

Upendra Bharti | HENB | New Delhi | June 30, 2017:: Finally,  India has cancelled Kailash Mansarovar yatra through Nathu La in Sikkim  for Chinese aggression in Sikkim sector and irresponsible statements uttered for neighbor country and its people intending to take a pilgrimage of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, an official of ministry of external affairs said on Friday.

The unpalatable decision comes in the wake of the face-off between Indian and Chinese troops over a disputed area along the Sino-Indian border in Doklam Plateau+.

The move will come as a disappointment to the 800 devotees hoping to visit the high altitude area, believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva, following an arduous trek along the Nathu La route.

Though the Nathu La route in Sikkim will not be used this year, the pilgrimage through Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand will continue as scheduled, a government official said.

The stoppage of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra this year through Nathu La and the growing discord between India and China in various border disputes along with China’s role to support Pakistani Terrorist Masood Azhar and its repeated opposition to India’s entry as a permanent member in UN security council, may affect the entire Kailash Mansarovar yatra from next year.

Earlier, China said it would not allow pilgrims from India to visit Kailash Mansarovar in Tibet+, if the situation is not resolved.

The increasing anti-Indian stigma posed by China is a sign of opening a direct war-front against India which may stop the Kailash Mansarovar yatra in future as experts opine.
