Upendra Bharti | HENB | Kolkata | Sept 5, 2017:: The ‘apparently eccentric’ Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee on Monday directed police administration that any attempt of ‘shastra puja’ or weapon worship by members of the saffron brigade on Dashami of Durga Puja, should be thwarted at any cost.

After banning Vijaya Dashmi Visarjan on Muharram Day and not giving permission of a Sister Nivedita 150 th Celebration at Mahajati Sadan, Jihad inclined Mamata Banerjee clandestinely hits another Hindu celebration only to appease her Muslim brothers and sisters.

It may be mentioned that RSS, VHP and Bajrangdal cadres are in preparations to display and worship weapons on Dashami procession as usual. But, the Chief Minister has directed senior police officers that they should take all necessary steps to ensure that no untoward incident takes place during Durga Puja and other forthcoming festivals.

“Weapons look best in the hands of Durga. So ensure that there is no attempt of creating tension on Vijaya Dashami day through ‘shastra puja’ or any procession with arms,” Mamata said on Monday at an administrative review meeting at Nabanna, the state secretariat. Present at the meeting were director general of police Surajit Kar Purakayastha, Commissioner of Kolkata Police Rajeev Kumar, all the district magistrates and district superintendents.

WB CM’s instructions come after the Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) had said that they intended to carry out shastra puja on Vijaya Dashami. Sources said that they would carry swords and even firearms during the rally and had said that if people from some other community were allowed to take out processions with arms on Muharram, they should also be allowed to take out such rallies. “There should not be discrimination in the implementation of rules, VHP will carry out all processions of Vijaya Dashmi with arms below 6″ length which doesn’t come under Arms Act” said VHP Media Cell In charge Sourish Mukherjee.

RSS South Bengal Secretary and Nuclear Scientist, Dr Jisnu Basu told HENB that, “There will be Shatra Pujan in the Foundation Day of RSS on Vijaya Dashmi at all Sangha Niwas (Residential office) in Bengal including it Bengal HQ at Keshav Bhawan at 9 A Avedananda Road Road, Kolkata- 700 006”.

It is interesting that Mamata Banerjee is restricting Vijaya Dashami of Hindus and Shastra Pujan by the Saffron Cadres, but she is not taking any action against the Weapon wielding Muharram processions all over Bengal including Kolkata in the very next day of Vijya Dashmi.

The Hindu leaders belonging to VHP and Bajrangdal categorically condemned the discriminatory stand of Mamata Banerjee and told HENB that there would be Shastra Pujan (Weapon Worship) and Vijay Dashmi Procession as usual in this year also.

Describing Mamata as a prototype of Aurangzeb, Hindu interlocutor and Editor of Hindu Existence, Upananda Brahmachari told HENB that, “Aurangzeb imposed Jizya taxes on Hindus in his time. Hindus had to pay life taxes and they were not allowed to carry arms nor even ride on horses. Now, Mamata Banerjee is doing almost same thing. She restricted Hindus to carry arms. God knows whether she is going to issue directives against Bharat Sevashram Sangha processions where Trishuls (trident) and Swords are openly carried out eventually. All units of Bharat Sevashram Sangh do Aarti thrice daily with Trishul and Swords as a mandate of Sangha Founder Jagatguru Acahrya Shreemat Swami Pranavananda Ji Maharaj”.
