Release of Padmavati must be a full stop in Indian film industries to attack Hindu sentiments.

Have kept pride, honour of Rajputs in mind and there is no scene together with Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji: Sanjay Leela Bhansali on ‘Padmavati’.

Upendra Bharti | HENB | Mumbai | Nov 9, 2017:: Like a very good boy Sanjay Leela Bhansali humbly appeared before the Hindu viewers of Bollywood films who are supposedly angry with an issue of “Rajput Honor” in his upcoming film Padmavati. Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, following widespread criticism against his new production “Padmavati”, on Wednesday said the film upholds the honour of Rajputs and does not depict anything that may hurt anyone’s sentiments. This started an era in Indian film industries to mow down the trend of vilification of Hindutva or to attack Hindu sentiments in various ways.

A post on the official Twitter handle of “Padmavati”, read: “‘Padmavati’ my tribute to the sacrifice, valour and honour of Rani Padmavati: Sanjay Leela Bhansali.”

In an accompanying video link, Bhansali, who has so far refrained from commenting much on the controversy, says: “I’ve made this film ‘Padmavati’ with a lot of sincerity, responsibility and hard work. I have always been inspired by Rani Padmavati’s story and this film salutes her valour and sacrifice. But because of some rumours, this film has become a subject of controversy.

“The controversy is over the fact that the film has a dream sequence between Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji — something that I have already denied even in written. Now through this video, I am reiterating that in our film, Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji have no such scene together which hurts anyone’s sentiments.

“We have made this film with a lot of responsibility and have kept the pride and honour of the Rajputs in mind.”

The movie, which is being called an epic historical drama, features Deepika Padukone as Rajput queen Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as her husband Rawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Delhi Sultanate ruler Alauddin Khilji.

On the basis of Bhansali’s trend to handling of Hindu sentiments in a very debatable way, as he did before in ”Goliyon ki raasleela Ram-Leela+” and  “Bajirao Mastani+”, some Rajpoot organisations have been protesting against film “Padmavati” also apprehending a ‘defamation of Rajpoot pride’ and  ‘character assassination of Rani Padmavati’.

Now, it is good to see that Mumbai film industries understand the Hindu retaliation against the trend of making movies to show Hindus in a bad light.

Upananda Brahmachari, Hindu interlocutor and Editor of Hindu Existence told HENB, “This a time to check Bhansali’s version that he did not make any wrong with the history and heights of Rani Padmini in the film Padmavati. If any mischief on the part of Bhansali is found after release of the film, Bhansali may face tough consequences. Then, Hindus will not forgive him anymore.”

Release of Padmavati must be a full stop in Indian film industries to attack Hindu sentiments time and again with a very bad intention.
