5000 Hindus out of 10000 invitees from 13 villages in Uttar Pradesh were served with Kara Beef Biryani fraudulently as “tabarruk” (prasad) in an Urs (annual festival) at a Mazar of a Peer.

Upendra Bharti | HENB | Mahoba | Sept 5, 2019:: In a very shocking incident, 5000 Hindus out if 10000 invitees from 13 villages in Uttar Pradesh were served with Kara Beef (Bufalo meat) Biryani (Rice-meat spicy mix) fraudulently as “tabarruk” (prasad) in an Urs (annual festival) at a Mazar (grave) of a Peer.

In Mahoba district in Chitrakoot Division of Uttar Pradesh (interestingly a BJP run State), the death anniversary  (Urs) of a so called of a Sufi saint in Salat village under Charkhari Police station area has been being performed  by some Muslims since last 6-7 years. The in-charge of that Urs committee, Kallu Kazi invited about 10000 villagers of nearby villages to attend the Urs of Sheikh Peer Baba.

Though the incident took place on 31 August, but it came into the light of News papers/media on just Sept 5th.

Buffalo Meat allegedly served

As per report of Op-India Hindi Edition+, when the Hindus were served with the same  Biryani as “tabarruk” or “Prasad” (sacraments) served to Muslim invitees also, non-veg Hindus objected the pieces of meat and bones in the served Biryani. As majority Hindus denies Beef or Kara Beef (Buffalo meat) in their food-habit, a brawl appeared in the scene immediately.

Police in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, have registered an FIR against 23 Muslim youth including other unknown persons for “promoting enmity between groups on grounds of religion and hurting religious sentiments”, following allegations that they served “non-vegetarian biryani” to Hindus at a Muslim religious congregation without telling them.

Police said that the case was registered after the intervention of local BJP MLA Brijbhushan Rajpoot, as reported by  Indian Express+.

As per Rajpoot, Indian Express tried to twist the fact that the main complainant Rajkumar Raikwar supposedly wanted to withdraw his complaint after an adjustment with the Urs committee as they wanted to provide an amount of Rs 50000/- for the Suddhikaran (Purification) of the Hindus who took the non-veg item believing it as veg item as it was served discreetly to them. The Urs committee allowed Rs 10/- only per head for the purification programme for the 5000 Hindus who were forced to take Kara Beef Biryani for a planned vilification of the Hindu faith.

Indian Express depicted BJP MLA Rajpoot as a communal propagandist for the incident and the reporter Avneesh Mishra wanted to pour waters to wash the defiling mode of the Muslim perpetrators.

In the FIR, it is told that that buffalo meat was served mixed with rice without alerting the Hindus to intentionally hurt their religious sentiments.

The FIR has been registered under sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
