Bangladesh ISKCON’s Twitter account closed, Kirtan protests around the world on Oct 23 against the barbaric Jihadi attacks on minority Hindus. Former US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard condemns.

Upasana Das | HENB | Dhaka | Oct 20, 2021:: ISKCON in Bangladesh is under another repression. Now, their Twitter account of the Bangladesh chapter of the international organization was closed by Twitter authorities.

The ISKCON authorities have already protested the incident.  The organization wanted to know from the Twitter authorities, why was their Bangladesh account closed?. Yudhistir Govinda Das (ISKCON Communications), one of the key persons of ISKCON, wrote on Twitter, “I wanted to know from my Twitter account why the ISKCON Bangladesh account was closed.”

Not only that the twitter handle of Unity Council of Bangladesh was also suspended by the twitter authority most probably under the reporting of Sheikh Hasina Govt in Bangladesh. Incidentally, ISKCON is also a part of Unity Council of Bangladesh.

As the ISKCON temples in Bangladesh were vandalized, devotees were attacked and murdered during recent Durgapuja and post Puja violence, ISKCON finally took the path of global protest through Hare Krishna Nam Sankirtan. ISKCON has called for protests around the world over the recent Jihadi brutality in Bangladesh on October 23.

The Indian government has been shaken by the attacks on minorities in Bangladesh. There has been a storm of protest on social media. Massive protests have been seen in India, specially in West Bengal,  in United States in front of UN HQ in New York and different places in Bangladesh as well.

The ISKCON authorities in Kolkata have expressed concern over the safety of minorities in Bangladesh the wake of the incident. The authorities have issued a written statement requesting the Bangladesh administration to provide security to the minorities.

‘Jihadist forces of hate’: Former US Congresswoman condemns Jihadi attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.

Condemning the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard on Wednesday called for the country’s government to take action against Jihadi forces of hate. Tulsi is a practicing Hindu, ISKCON sympathizer and admirer of AC Bhaktivedant Swami Prabhupad.

“It is time for the supposedly secular government of Bangladesh to protect that country’s religious minorities, including Hindus, Christians, and Buddhists, from the jihadist forces of hate,” Tulsi Gabbard said.

Violence erupted in the neighbouring country on October 13, Ashtami, when word spread that Hindus had desecrated the Quran by placing it on the knee of an idol at a puja pandal in Qoumillah. On October 18, a group of assailants vandalised at least 66 homes and torched 20 homes of Hindus in Bangladesh amid continued violence.

Incidents of vandalism and violence were also reported in temples in Chandpur’s Hajiganj, Chattogram’s Banshkhali and Cox’s Bazar’s Pekua, the report said.

“It broke my heart to see such hate and violence directed towards devotees of God in their temples in Bangladesh,” she said in a video tweeted on Wednesday. “For these jihadists to believe it’s pleasing to God to burn and destroy temples and the murti of such a saintly person as his Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad, shows just how far away from God they really are,” Tulsi Gabbard, the first Hindu in the US Congress, added.
