Manipur: Three Muslims held for slaughtering cow over BJP flag in Imphal.

Nipon Sangma | HENB | Imphal | Feb 2, 2022:: Manipur police has arrested three Muslim men for allegedly slaughtering cow a cow over the BJP flag at Lilong in Imphal west district.

The arrested persons have been identified as Md. Abdul Rashid (28), s/o (L) Md Abdul Rahim of Lilong Chabok Ipham; Nazbul Hussain (38), s/o (L) Akbar of Lilong Tolenkhun and Md. Arif Khan (31), s/o Md. Yakub Ali of Lilong Heinou Makhong.

They have also been charged with hurling abuses against Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and State BJP president A. Sharda.

Three accused persons have been sent to police custody. The video clipping of the incident went viral on January 30.

Confirming the incident, Lilong Police has registered a Suo-moto case on Monday under FIR No 10(01)2022 Lilong PS, U/S 153A/429/504 IPC and Section 11 (1) The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 against three accused so far.

Many Jihadi groups in North East specially in three BJP run states viz Assam, Tripura and Manipur, are trying to disturb the law and order situation in many areas there by attacking Hindu sentiments in various communal angels.

There is restriction on Cow slaughter in the state of Manipur.
