B Upendran | HENB | Hyderabad | Aug 23, 2022:: Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh has been arrested on Tuesday morning for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad after hundreds hit the streets of Hyderabad demanding his arrest. A case under sections 295(a), and 153 (a) has been registered against the leader, who is known for making divisive comments on social media. Singh represents Hyderabad’s Goshamahal assembly constituency in Hyderabad.

He made the remarks while attacking stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui, who recently performed in Hyderabad. While Singh, popularly known as Raja Bhaiya and Tiger Raja, tried to defend it as a “comedy video”, saying he made no mention of the Prophet, police registered cases against him after protests by Muslim organisations.

In the viral video, Raja Singh is purportedly attacking the Muslim community for the population explosion. He also attacked those who kill people for saying anything against their religion. He also used an allegedly disputed analogy for the Prophet without naming him.

Singh released the video on Aug 20, ahead of Faruqui’s show in Hyderabad, threatening to disrupt it, leading to his house arrest. Faruqui, who had been arrested in Madhya Pradesh in 2021 on a complaint of insulting Hindu deities, held a show in Hyderabad on August 21, with the TRS government ensuring full support for him. Just the previous day, his show had to be cancelled in Bengaluru on apprehension of trouble.

Soon after his arrest over the prophet remarks row, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suspended T Raja Singh for his controversial remarks allegedly targeting Islam.

In a letter issued on 23.08.2022, by the member secretary of central disciplinary committee, Om Pathak, BJP framed Raja Singh conveying, “You have expressed views contrary to the party’s position on various matters which is in clear violence of Rule XXV. 10(a) of the constitution of Bharatiya Janata Party. ….. pending further inquiry, you are suspended from the party and from your responsibilities/ assignments if any, with immediate effect.”

Hyderabad DCP (West Zone) Joel Davis told the media, “We have received several complaints. MLA Raja Singh has been apprehended. We will update you about the arrest as well as the sections soon.”

But such a suspension of the dedicated Hindutva leader of BJP, Tiger Raja Singh Thakur, created a huge repercussion in the BJP cadre-line and Hindutva activists in social media.

After the ouster of Nupur Sharma & Naveen Jindal from BJP, the suspension of Raja Singh Thakur is obviously showing the Muslim affinity of BJP to create the situation of ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ (Cut the head from the body).

Nupur, Naveen and Raja Singh did not tell anything against Islam or Muhammad unless they were instigated by the situation of vilification of Hindus or the killing of Hindus in India by the ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ groups.

Such inclined views of BJP in favour of fanatic people with the slogan, ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’, will ultimately fracture the Hindutva base of the party to create a crisis in the faith of Hindu majority of India.

BJP leadership must try to understand the wall-writings being written around them by their own cadres.

Taking his twitter handle, Hindu interlocutor and Hindu Existence website editor, Upananda Brahmachari expressed his concern as, “पार्टी से निकाल सकते हो लेकिन करोड़ो हिन्दुओ के दिलो से कैसे निकलोगे @narendramodi– @AmitShah– @JPNadda जी …… वही इस देश पर राज करेगा जो हिंदुत्व की बात करेगा। (You can expel him from the party but how will you remove him from the hearts of crores of Hindus? Those will rule this country who will talk of Hindutva. …… Unfortunately, @BJP4India is digging its own grave by helping #SarTanSeJuda Group…. STOP THIS SECULARIZATION (READ CONGRESSIZATION) OF BJP IMMEDIATELY.”

Hours after arrest, Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh granted bail in the Prophet remarks row.

 BJP MLA T Raja Singh was granted bail within hours of arrest after a court returned his remand and ordered his release.

The court ordered his release after it noted that section 41 of the Code Of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) was not followed during the arrest. He was released with a warning, as reported.
