PM Modi to inaugurates ‘Mahakal Lok’ in Ujjain as the revival of ancient culture & heritage of India.

Upendra Bharti | HENB | Ujjain | Oct 11, 2022:: Shri Mahakal Lok Corridor Ujjain Inauguration: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday evening dedicated to the nation the first phase of the ‘Shri Mahakal Lok’ corridor in Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh. The grand event is part of the Rs 856 crore Mahakaleshwar Temple corridor development project. The first phase of ‘Mahakal Lok’ has been developed at Rs 316 crore. 

‘Mahakal Lok’ corridor, built as one of the largest such corridors in the country is The more than 900-metre-long. It spreads around the old Rudrasagar Lake which has also been revived as part of the redevelopment project around the famous Mahakaleshwar Temple, one of the 12 ‘jyotirlingas’ in the country which attracts a large number of devotees, an official said.

The newly developed corridor at the temple, which has been named as ‘Mahakal Lok’, measures over 900 metres in length. The corridor has a colonnade of 108 ornate pillars made of intricately carved sandstones, gushing fountains and a running panel of more than 50 murals depicting stories from the ‘Shiv Puran’. Two majestic gateways — Nandi Dwar and Pinaki Dwar — separated by a short distance, have been erected near the starting point of the corridor, which winds its way to the temple’s entrance and offers an aesthetic view along the way.

In this event PM Modi was welcomed by Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and worshiped Lord Shiva in the Mahakaleshwar Temple maintaining holy rituals devotedly.

In his speech PM Modi said everything in the Mahakal Lok is divine and not worldly anyway. It is told that PM prayed to Lord Mahakaleshwar  for the well being of the Nation with an urge to make India as Vishwa Guru again.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain has led prosperity and knowledge in India for thousands of years. Speaking after the inauguration ‘Mahakal Lok’ (corridor), the PM said, “Spirituality is contained in every particle and divine energy is being transmitted in every corner of Ujjain. Ujjain has led India’s prosperity, knowledge, dignity and literature for thousands of years.”

In his speech, PM Modi also mentioned the construction of magnificent Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya and Chardham projects etc as the comprehensive work for the national integration and bearing the cultural legacy of ancient India.

Governor of Madhya Pradesh – Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, many other dignitaries including Revered saints, Governor of Chattishgarh and Jharkhand, many Members of Parliament  and MLAs of Madhya Pradesh and delighted citizens of Madhya Pradesh were present in the function.

Though there was restrictions of entry of public at the venue of Mahakal corridor inauguration programme and around it, some 1000 big screens were installed around the venue and in the state for viewing live steaming of the event.
