Sanjana Rawal | HENB | Lucknow | Dec 16, 2022:: The Mahant of Ayodhya’s Hanuman Garhi Raju Das has objected to Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s upcoming movie ‘Pathaan’, appealing to the public to boycott it. In a video message, the Mahant can be heard saying, “I appeal to people to set those theatres on fire where Pathaan will be screened”.
Pathaan’s movie first song, ‘Besharam Rang’, which was dropped recently, has landed in a controversy after Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra frowned upon the colour of the attire of Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan, calling for its ‘rectification’ by the producers and the Film Certification Board. The BJP leader has also warned for a ban on the movie over ‘objectionable scenes’ in Madhya Pardesh, if not corrected the use of saffron costumes hinting as ‘Shameless Colour’.
“Bollywood and Hollywood constantly try to find ways to make fun of Sanatan Dharma and insult Hindu Gods and Goddesses. In the Pathaan movie, Deepika Padukone wore a bikini which hurt the religious sentiments of saints and of the entire country. Shahrukh Khan constantly makes fun of Sanatan Dharma. What was the need to wear a saffron bikini and perform such steps in the song?,” Mahant Raju Das asked in a video.
He went on to allege that this was deliberately done to hurt religious sentiments and strict action should be taken against these people.
“I appeal to the audience to boycott the film and burn the theatres wherever the film will be screened, adding that the makers of the film should be treated in the same manner,” he added.
Boycott Pathaan has emerged as one of the top Twitter trends after a section of netizens objected to Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Besharam Rang. The film is slated to release on January 25, 2023 under the banner of Yash Raj Films.
Activists of Veer Shivaji Group on Wednesday staged a protest against the upcoming Bollywood film ‘Pathaan’ and its song ‘Besharam Rang’ in MP’s Indore. An effigy of Shah Rukh Khan was burnt as an outfit carried out a protest against Pathaan movie in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore and called for its ban for “hurting Hindu sentiments”.

Not only in Madhya Pradesh, saffron activists burnt effigies of Khan and Padukone on Friday in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra town, about 350 kilometres from here.
Bajrang Dal activists assembled to protest at the shooting venue of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur.
According to police sources, scores of Hindu-Mahasabha workers raised slogans against the film and burnt effigies of Khan and Padukone near Shree Talkies in the town. The cops had a tough time in dispersing the saffron activists, who warned that they would not allow screening of the movie in the Taj city. ”The movie is anti-Hindu…we feel humiliated…we will not be responsible for the consequences if any theatre owner screenes the movie,” said a Mahasabha office bearer in Agra.
The Madhya Pradesh home minister narottam Mishra has said if certain scenes in the song are not ‘corrected’, the government will consider what to do about the screening of the movie in Madhya Pradesh.

Swami Chakrapani also wrote in a tweet in Hindi, “There has been an insult of saffron and Hindu Sanskrit in Shah Rukh Khan’s film Pathaan. Why is the film censor board sleeping? We will impose a ban! The Hindu Mahasabha will oppose it. Swami Chakrapani Maharaj, National President, All India Hindu Mahasabha.”
Bollywood actor and renowned Mahabharat mega-serial star Mukesh Khanna, who played the role of Bhishma has also entered into the controversy of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film Pathan. The actor has termed the film’s recently released song Besharam as obscene. The ‘Shaktimaan’ fame actor said, ‘Children also watch TV and movies and such songs should not be passed by the censor board. Mukesh Khanna said that the Censor Board is not a Supreme Court which cannot be opposed. Consequently, the role of Prasoon Joshi, the Chairman of the Film Censor Board is getting critical amid the series of controversies raised from the films violating Hindu sentiments one after another.
It is also surfaced that two BJP MP Pragya Sigh Thakur (from Bhopal) and Manoj Tiwari (North-East Delhi) also opposed the Pathaan fot its obscene imposition on Hindu sentiments connected with the Saffron colour and its dignity.
As there is a huge protest against the screening the song, ‘Besharam Rang’ in Pathaan in an objectionable way, the producer of the film must change it suitably honoring the public demand immediately before release without hurting Hindu sentiments.
