On Sunday evening, the missionaries, who were carrying out the forceful conversion activities in the Maralur Dinne area, reached Ravi’s residence and started belittling Hindu Gods.

Sarmeeli Mallick | Times Now Bureau | Tumakuru (Karnataka) | Dec 19, 2022:: Three young Christian missionaries, including two girls, have been booked for allegedly attempting to forcefully convert Hindus to Christianty in the Tumakuru district of the state, police said on Monday. 

The matter came to the light after one Ravi, a resident of Maraluru Dinne in the limits of Jayanagar police station in Tumakuru city lodged a police complaint in this regard, said police as reported by IANS.

On Sunday evening, the missionaries, who were carrying out the forceful conversion activities in the Maralur Dinne area, reached Ravi’s residence and started belittling Hindu Gods.

As per the complainant, the accused missionaries told Ravi that he can get God’s blessings only if he turns into a Christian. They also promised him of giving him protection if he along with his family gets converted.

They told Ravi and his family that celebration of Hindu festivals like Ganesh festival is a blind belief. They further added that there is only one God and not 36 crore Gods, as is believed in Hinduism, the complainant alleged as reported by IANS.

Bajrang Dal activists, upon receiving information about the incident, rushed to the complainant’s residence and confronted the accused.

Following this, police were informed who questioned the missionaries. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
