Bajrang Dal activist brutally killed in Assam; 1 Muslim assailant held.

Sumitra Bordoloi | HENB | Guwahati | Jan 9, 2023:: Hailakandi police  nabbed one culprit on Monday, responsible for the death of a Bajrang Dal activist. The deceased victim, identified as Sambhu Koiri, was 16 year old and was allegedly murdered on 7th January, Saturday. The arrest has been made in Assam’s Karimganj district. The Culprit is identified as Selimuddin, son of Monauddin.

Sambhu was killed in an area 50km distant from Karimganj town, Lowairpua in public with utter Islamic brutality. The area falls under Bazaricherra police station.

Sambhu Koiri attended a three day training program conducted by Bajrang Dal in Hailakandi district. He was killed while returning back from the camp towards Karimganj district. This has been stated by Chiranjit Bora, the officer-in-charge of Bazaricherra police station.

According to police officials, the 16 year old activist Shambhu was attacked with sharp weapons by the Muslim miscreants named Selimuddin. However, the victim was rushed to a nearby Makunda hospital but was declared dead by the medical authorities.

It is also reported that the Hindu locals in the area went all furious after his death and protested at the Bazaricherra police station. They also set some houses on fire.

The crowd was demanding arrest of the culprits who were involved in the attack while gheraoed the Bazaricherra Police Station after the incident. Additional police personnel were allotted in the area to bring the situation to a peaceful end. Sambhu Koiri was a student of class X of a local school, and son of Madhu Koiri, a tea stall owner. An FIR has also been lodged according to the complaints by the family members of the deceased. The police have registered a murder case and initiated an investigation.

Incidentally, Muslim aggression in Assam is highest among the North East States in India. The Bangladeshi and Rohingya Muslim infiltrators have captured many places in Assam putting the Hindu lifeline in danger. Out of  35 Administrative Districts in Assam 11 districts (Dhubri, Bongaigaon, Goalpara, Barpeta, Morigaon, South Salmara district, Hojai, Nagaon, Darrang, Karimganj and Hailakandi) are Muslim dominated and and 5 districts (Cachar, Nalbari, Kamrup, Kokrajhar and Chirang) have high Muslim concentration which created a law and order issue in the concerned areas.
