Hindu Priests hold protest at Delhi CM Kejriwal’s residence over monthly salary.

Upendra Bharti | HENB | New Delhi | Feb 7, 2023:: Demanding equal rights, thousands of priests staged a protest outside Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s official residence on Tuesday. They demanded monthly salaries for themselves. Some BJP leaders also joined the priests in their protest. The protesters said they will continue the agitation till the government doesn’t give salaries to the priests and work for the protection of Sanatan Dharma. Protesters said that if the government is giving salaries to Imams, and Muezzins then why Hindu temple priests and Granthis of Gurudwaras are not being paid?

Talking to ANI, BJP leader Manoj Tiwari said, “Maulvis at Masjid are being paid monthly salary then why are Hindu Priests not getting same rights.” Also, targeting Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, he said that he is doing injustice with the Hindu priests.

The protest rally was organised by the Mandir Pujari Prokosth (Temple Priest Cell) of Bharatiya Janata party (BJP).

The BJP has been raising the demand for wages/salaries to the priests of Hindu, Sikh and Christian religious places.
