Kanpur (UP): The faith of Muslim youth in Hinduism put him under threat of extinction.

But after marriage, his Muslim wife and in-laws were so upset that the wife got angry and went to her maternal home. Now the Muslim in-laws are threatening him that he should stop practicing Hinduism and worship, otherwise, they will kill him. The victim’s youth has lodged a complaint with the police.

The case pertains to the Char Rath intersection of Babupurwa police station area. According to Junaid, a Muslim youth living here, when he was young, he lost his eyesight in one eye, then his mother had taken him to the Shobhan Sarkar temple in Shivali, Kanpur countryside. There his eyes were cured by worship and offerings. Since then his faith attracted to Hinduism and since then Junaid and his mother started worshiping all the Hindu Gods and Goddesses with full of devotion.

Muslim youth’s faith in Hinduism

Junaid now wears saffron clothes, goes to the temple, and keeps the idol of Lord Ganesha with him. According to Junaid, he was married in 2019 to Afroz, a resident of a village near Bindki in Fatehpur district. It is alleged that since the marriage, the parents of the Muslim wife were continuously persuading him not to follow the Hindu religion and stop worshiping. The in-laws are also used to torture Juniad and his mother for not listening to them.

One brother of Junaid’s wife is abroad and the other brother lives in Fatehpur. Junaid said that one of the wife’s brothers also electrocuted his mother and threatened to kill him and his mother. After increasing the dispute in both families, now the aggrieved youth complained about the case in Babupurwa Kotwali. DCP South Shivaji Shukla told that such a case has come to the notice of the police. Police are investigating it. Further legal action will be taken on the basis of the investigation.
