The decision of the Varanasi Court on ‘scientific survey of the entire Gyanvapi mosque’ will come up on July 21.

Varanasi court reserves order for July 21 on a plea seeking a scientific survey of the entire Gyanvapi mosque excluding ‘wazu area’.

The petition filed by the Hindu side of the case had sought a direction for the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to survey the entire Gyanvapi mosque complex adjacent to Kashi Vishwanath Temple. 

Puneeta Mishra | HENB | Varanasi | July 14, 2023:: A court here in Varanasi on Friday reserved its order for July 21 on a petition seeking a scientific survey of the Gyanvapi mosque located next to the Kashi Vishwanath temple.

The petition filed by the Hindu side of the case had sought a direction so that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) can survey the entire Gyanvapi mosque complex to reveal the truth about the age of historicity on the row relating the v rivalry upon Shringar Gouri-Gyanvapi row in question.

“We had put before the court the demand for an archaeological and scientific investigation of the entire Gyanvapi complex except for the ‘vajukhana’. After hearing both sides, the court reserved the verdict for July 21,” said Vishnu Shankar Jain, the counsel for the Hindu side.

Jain said he argued that the Kashi Vishwanath temple-Gyanvapi mosque dispute can be resolved only by an archaeological investigation of the entire mosque complex.

Taking his Twitter handle Adv Vishu Shankar Jain expressed his concern as “The Varanasi court has reserved its verdict on gyanvyapi asi survey of entire premises (excluding wazu area). The judgment is likely to be delivered on 21st july. Let justice prevail”.

Advocates of the Hindu sides and opposition thereto were present in the court during proceedings.
