Not only Manipur, Hindus are under threat in Mizoram and Meghalaya. Stop the peril of Meitie Hindus in North-East.

attack on the devotees of Mahadev Khola Dham in Shillong

As tensions rise, Meiteis of Hindu roots forced to leave Mizoram and Meghalaya.

56 Meiteis take flight to Imphal, many from across Mizoram leave by buses and taxis. Devotees of Hindu temple  attacked, shops looted in Meghalaya.

Nipun N Singh | HENB | Imphal | July 24, 2023:: The situation of Mizoram is under panic for Meitei people. Now, Hindus are also under threat and attack in Christian-majority Meghalaya after Manipur

Meitei people mainly of Hindu roots living and working in Mizoram started exiting the northeastern State from July 22 following a diktat by an organization of former extremists to leave “for their own safety”.

From a recent video, as surfaced in the news channel named, ‘Northeast Live’ it is known that  Hindu shops and homes were looted and the devotees in a sacred Temple attacked in Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. It reminds as a promo of the horrible violence unleashed by the  Christian Kuki militants on Hindus in Manipur. The hatred against Hindu Meities is spreading like wildfire to other Christian majority states in North East, But it is beyond any understanding, why the Modi govt is continuing to watch this horror unfolding silently in the entire region to make a ‘Hindu Free NE’ there? PM Modi broke his silence only after 87 days after the violence started in Manipur and two women were stripped off publicly and gang-raped there as reported.

In the video of ‘Northeast Live’, it was reported that the devotees of the  Hindu Temple, named ‘Mahadev Khola Dham’ in Shillong were attacked by the miscreants, Hindu shops were looted and chaos was perpetrated for giving a message to frighten the Hindus in the state of Meghalaya.

Eralier, Times Now hinted (on May 24, 2023) how “Manipur Fire reaches Mizoram and Meities begin to leave Mizoram after threat”.

Ex-militants’ Outfit then asked the Meities people to leave Mizoram for security reasons.

The Peace Accord MNF Returnees’ Association (PAMRA) had issued a statement on Friday (July 21, 2023) saying Mizoram was no longer safe for the Meiteis in view of the mounting tension following the “barbaric and heinous acts committed by miscreants in Manipur”. Mizos and Kukisare ethnically related, as are the Chins of Myanmar and the Chin-Kukis of Bangladesh.

Meeting in Mizoram

Officials of airline agencies operating flights to and from Lengpui, the airport near Mizoram’s capital Aizawl, said about 60 people took flights to Imphal’s Tulihal airport. Imphal airport authorities said 56 Meiteis landed from Mizoram in an Alliance Air flight. An unspecified number of Meitei people are said to have left Aizawl and other parts of Mizoram by buses and taxis.

Sources said the N. Biren Singh government was making arrangements to airlift settlers in Mizoram from Sunday morning to avoid road travel.

According to a Manipur Government estimate, there are about 2,000 Meiteis in Mizoram, including teachers at Mizoram University. Half of them are from Manipur while the other half are primarily from southern Assam.

The PAMRA’s statement on Friday was with reference to a viral video showing a mob parading two naked women, one of whom was allegedly gang-raped at B. Phainom village in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district. The incident took place on May 4.

The Mizoram Government had beefed up security in Aizawl after PAMRA issued its statement in the wake of the viral video. The video was also cited by Mizoram’s Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Lallianmawia in a letter to the commandants of two Mizoram Armed Battalions and an Indian Reserve Battalion. He said the safety of the Meitei people in Aizawl should be ensured in view of the outrage over the video.

Appeal to stay back

Mizoram’s Home Commissioner, H. Lalengmawia, held a meeting with the leaders of PAMRA on Saturday, seeking a clarification on the statement they had issued purportedly to threaten the Meiteis.

“The PAMRA representatives said their statement was an advisory requesting the Meiteis living in Mizoram to exercise caution in the light of public sentiments regarding the ongoing conflict in Manipur and was not a diktat or a quit notice to the Meiteis,” a Mizoram Government spokesperson said.

The PAMRA representatives expressed regret that their statement was misconstrued and have assured not to do anything that would affect peace and tranquillity in the State, the spokesperson said.

“We also met with representatives of All Mizoram Manipuri Association and assured them of their safety and security and persuaded them to inform their fellow Meiteis, both government employees and students, not to leave the State,” Mr. Lalengmawia said.

Officials said a total of 12,584 Chin-Kuki-Zo people from Manipur took refuge in Mizoram till July 21.

Meghalaya is also ruled by BJP,  Will it be the same situation like Manipur?

The critiques of Modi Govt started blaming PM for his role towards the North-East. In a tweet, Ritu #जिष्णु wrote: “Seems the biggest achievement of the Modi government would be Hindu Free North East.”  She also tweeted, “HORRID NEWS: Now Hindus under severe attack in Christian majority #Meghalaya.”

In another tweet, Ritu #जिष्णु  expressed her concern as: “HINDU EXODUS: this time from Mizoram. Mizoram a bordering state of #Manipur is Christian majority state with whopping 88% of it’s population being xtan. Hindus are merely 2.5%. Now the intolerant Christians of Mizoram have u leashed horrid Violence on minority Hindu Meitei community forcing them to leave their homes Such horror is taking place under the nose of PM Modi and Amit Shah.  Hindus are not safe anywhere in India anymore.”

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah must be serious enough not to make other Manipurs in Mazirom or Meghalaya. Stop the peril of Meitie Hindus in North-East,
