Hindu religious leaders react to Udhayanidhi Stalin’s ‘Sanatana Dharma Eradication’ remarks from everywhere. 

Reacting to Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Sanatana Dharma remark, Saint turned Congress leader Acharya Pramod said it seems there is a competition among leaders to abuse Hindus. BJP leaders also strongly protested….complaint filed with Delhi Police against Udhayanidhi.

Usha  Saxena | HENB | New Delhi | Sept 3, 2023:: Several Hindu Saints, religious leaders including political leaders on Sunday strongly condemned Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s comments on the “Sanatana Dharma”. Hindu Mahasabha president Swami Chakrapani claimed that the Sanatana Dharma has existed for centuries and will remain so.

Alleging that Sanatana Dharma is against equality and social justice, DMK youth wing secretary and Tamil Nadu youth welfare minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of chief minister MK Stalin, has said it should be eradicated. Likening Sanatana Dharma to coronavirus, malaria, fever caused by dengue virus, he said such things should not be opposed but destroyed like mosquitos, cockroaches and insects. Udhayanidhi Stalin on Saturday, speaking at a ‘Sanatana Abolition Conference’, sparked a row after he compared sanatana dharma with “dengue” and “malaria” and said that it should not just be opposed, but “eradicated”.

Such statement of DMK leader Udhayanidi, who is also a partner of I.N.D.I.A. has been interpreted by many as a threat of hinted genocide of Sanatani Hindus.  Bharat Voice Editor, Gayatri N wrote in X (formerly known as Twitter), “This man who is a minister in TN govt and son of CM, says Sanatana Dharma needs to be destroyed like mosquitoes, cockroaches and pests are killed. So TN Hindus face state sponsored genocide of Hindus and annihilation of Hinduism.”

Reacting to his statement, Congress leader Acharya Pramod said it seems there is a competition among leaders to abuse Hindus.

“For 1000 years, there have been efforts to erase ‘Sanatan Dharma’. No one could erase it…,” he said.

Rangarajan head priest of Chilkur Balaji Temple said they have seen the statement of Udhayanidhi Stalin. “First of all, he is in a constitutional post. He is not supposed to speak nonsense or things like this…,” the priest said. The head priest also mentioned that the people of Tamil Nadu will teach a lesson to the anti-Hindu politics of DMK very soon.

Acharya Satyendra Das, chief priest of Ram Janmabhoomi, said, “…Sanatana Dharma cannot be eradicated at any cost. Sanatana Dharma has existed for centuries and will remain so. He (Udhayanidhi Stalin) does not understand the real meaning of Sanatana Dharma, whatever he is saying is absolutely wrong…”

Udhayanidhi referred to Sanatana Dharma as “Sanatanam” in his address in Tamil at a meeting of the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers and Artists Association in Chennai on Saturday.

“What is Sanatanam? The very name is only from Sanskrit. Sanatan is against equality and social justice and nothing else.”

“What is the meaning of Sanatan? It is eternal, that is, it cannot be changed; no one could pose any question and that is the meaning. Sanatan divided people on the basis of caste,” he alleged.

The minister added that everything should be changed and nothing is perpetual. The Communist movement and DMK were founded to question everything.

SC lawyer files complaint against Udhayanidhi Stalin

Vineet Jindal, a Supreme Court lawyer, filed a complaint with Delhi Police against Udhayanidhi over the controversial statement.

Jindal, a practising lawyer, has claimed that Udhayanidhi in a speech made a provocative, inflammatory, derogatory, and inciting statement against Sanatan Dharam.

“Being a Hindu and Sanatan dharma follower, my religious sentiments are hurt by statements made by Udhayanidhi Stalin called for eradicating Sanatan dharma and further comparing Sanatan with Mosquitoes, dengue, corona, and malaria,” said Jindal.

Many Hindu leaders and VHP condemned Udhayanidhi’s ‘Sanatan Eradication’ remarks

Condeming  Udhayanidhi, Akhila Karnataka Brahmin Mahasabha’s Secretary Raghvendra Bhat says, “No one can end Sanatan Dharma. Sanatan Dharma’s vision is happiness and prosperity. If it ends, creation will end’.

Sri Swayamprakasha Sachidananda Saraswathi Mahaswam of Sri Adi Shankaracharya Sharada Lakshminarasimha Peta says, “Our Sanatan Hindu Dharma is the most ancient Dharma in this entire world. So we can categorically say that this Dharma is the mother of all religions…Some people for the sake of their vote bank politics are speaking about Sanatan Dharma in a negative way. We are strongly condemning this act…”

Shankaracharya of Sumeru Peeth Swami Narendra Nand says, “He (Udhyanidhi Stalin) is not appropriate to be a minister. No one can end the Sanatana…The alliance formed by 24-28 parties have an anti-Hindu and anti-India mentality…These politicians of the 28 parties are consuming the nation like termites. They are looting the nation… People will teach them a lesson…”

A sharp reaction from Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) also came forth against the DMK leader. VHP National Working President Alok Kumar says, “I am shocked by his statement, language and intention. Full of arrogance, drowned in power, he didn’t even think of his power before making such statements…Those who speak of destroying ‘Sanatana’, get destroyed themselves…I am warning to not make such statements. The results would be serious for them…”

BJP attacked Udhayanidhi to expose the stand of DMK and I.N.D.I.A.

BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi exposed  Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s ‘Sanatana Dharma’ should be eradicated’ remark. Trivedi says, “This is not a statement given in isolation. But, it is having a complete consequential sequence…Just 24 hours after INDIA alliance meeting in Mumbai he gave this statement. It was well thought after, well-written with a proper design, with a proper conclusion. I want to ask who wrote and gave this paper to Udhayanidhi? What is the role of the INDIA alliance in this?…”

BJP Union Minister G Kishan Reddy says, “…Sanatan Dharma does not belong to a party, region or religion, it is India’s Dharma. It is followed & believed by people of different religions…DMK minister has insulted Sanatan Dharma…It is wrong to insult it as it belongs to everyone…I condemn the statements given by Congress leaders & DMK leaders. Such statements should not be passed…”

BJP Tamilnadu President K Annamalai called Udhayanidhi’s stand against Sanatana Dharma  a “bought-out idea from Christian missionaries”.  Annamalai also challenged Udhayanidhi to stop her mother Durga Stalin (wife of TN CM MK Stalin) from going to Hindu Temples everyday in the morning and evening, before showing his power to  ‘eradicate Sanatan Dharma’.

Udhayanidhi did not retract from his statement

Without retracting from his version of ‘Sanatan eradication’ Udhayanidhi told ANI, “” I am saying again that I only criticised Sanatana Dharma and that Sanatana Dharma should be eradicated. ….I am ready to face whatever cases they file against me. BJP is scared of the INDIA Alliance & to divert that they are saying all this.”

While a dozen of Congress and BJP leaders criticized and condemned the version of Udhayanidhi, many political leaders from Dravidian allegiance supported the DMK leader quoiting Periyar and Dr Ambedkar.
