Upendra Bharti | HENB | Varanasi | Nov 6, 2023:: The atmosphere of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is hot these days. The university is constantly in turmoil over various issues. On Sunday, two opposite student groups clashed over anti-Hindutva slogans. It is alleged that the Leftist and Naxlite students sitting at the Singh Gate (main entrance) of BHU are running an anti-Hindutva agenda under the guise of protest. Slogans like ‘Hindutva will dig your grave’ in the university campus which was established by Hindutva proponent Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, are spoiling the atmosphere.
Leftists and Naxlites gaining strength in BHU
There was a clash on Sunday between two student organizations protesting against the division of Kashi Hindu University campus. There was a huge ruckus between the students of ABVP (Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad) and Leftist AISA (All India Students’ Association) including Naxalite outfit BSM (Bhagat Singh Chhatra Morcha).
. It is being told that meanwhile, the police has detained a research scholar and taken him to Lanka police station.
It is reported that on Sunday, outside goons from AISA and BSM raised anti-Hindutva slogans in the campus and tried to spread anarchy by assaulting the students. The Rightist ABVP girl students who were protesting against this were also attacked, causing serious injuries to them.
AISA is involved in anti national activities
Seeing the anger of the students of Vidyarthi Parishad, the university administration took the students associated with AISA into custody. Abhay Singh, associated with ABVP, said that outside students are continuously doing anti-national activities in the campus to spoil the atmosphere of the university. Although this movement is being organized to protest against BHU bifurcation, under its cover AISA is working on its hidden agenda of subversive nature.
Outside boys are spoiling the campus environment
Sakshi Singh of Vidyarthi Parishad alleged that many of the people sitting on dharna at Singh Dwar (Main Gate of BHU) for 2 days have no connection with BHU but still they are spoiling the atmosphere of the university by coming here from other places and agitating.
Heavy police deployment
Heavy Police contingents are deployed outside the BHU campus to check further aggravation of the situation. Police on duty are trying to avert the infiltration of outsiders in the campus to vitiate the academic atmosphere of BHU.
