HJS and other Hindu Organisations demand ‘Love Jihad Prohibition’ law in Maharashtra.

Devout Hindu organizations are calling for the enactment of the ‘Love Jihad Prohibition’ law by the Maharashtra Government.

They aiming to prevent incidents similar to the unfortunate case of Shraddha Walkar. The government is contemplating a high level of seriousness regarding the implementation of the Love Jihad law, with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde providing assurance that a decision will be made soon.

Anti-Love-Jihad-LawUpendra Bharti | HENB | Nagpur | Dec 15, 2023:: The All Hindu Organizations led by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) demanded today the enactment of  the ‘Love Jihad’ law which is extremely serious to save the lives of Hindu girls and women from the clutches of false love entanglement by the Muslim perpetrators.  Today, a delegation of various Hindu organisations met Maharashtra CM at Nagpur Vidhan Bhavan and urged ‘Love Jihad Prohibition’ law  by the Maharashtra Govt before Shraddha Walkar like incidents reoccur.

According to a press release from the HJS, the Maharashtra Government is seriously considering implementing such a law to address the issue of Love Jihad. The Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, provided assurance during a meeting with representatives from various marches held across Maharashtra against ‘Love Jihad.’ The event also saw the presence of Girish Mahajan, the State’s Rural Development Minister, Sanjay Rathod, the Relief and Rehabilitation Minister, Bharatshet Gogawale of Shiv Sena, and Pratap Sarnaik, an MLA from Shiv Sena.

The delegation included various Hindutva organizations such as Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Shri Shivpratishthan Hindustan, Sakal Hindu Samaj, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad, Sanatan Sanstha, Sankalp Hindu Rashtra Abhiyan, Akhil Bharatiya Brahman Mahasangh, National Youth Federation, Sarva Brahman Mahasangh, Chitpavan Brahman Mahasangh, among others. Notable figures like Advocate Vaishali Paranjpe, Snehal Joshi, Sunil Ghanwat, Shankar Deshmukh, Parag Phadnis, and many others were also present.

Sunil Ghanwat, the State coordinator of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, highlighted that protests against ‘Love Jihad’ had been organized in every district, taluka, and city in Maharashtra, totaling more than 50 marches and rallies. He pointed out that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister/Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis had previously assured the enactment of a stringent law against ‘Love Jihad’ in Maharashtra. However, a year has passed without the implementation of such a law. Ghanwat emphasized that it was now time for Maharashtra to follow the lead of states like Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, where laws against ‘Love Jihad’ have been enacted. The committee’s demand is clear: the enactment of the law in Maharashtra.

Chief Minister Shinde clarified the government’s stance, stating that the policy was known to the public. He emphasized that the government is committed to making a final decision in a decisive meeting in Mumbai, providing the necessary information during that session.
