WB BJP approaches High Court as Kolkata police denied the permission of Rampujan at Kalighat.

Rampujan not allowed at Kalighat on the day of inauguration of Ayodhya Ram Mandir, BJP approaches Calcutta High Court. 

Sankirtan Das | HENB | Kolkata | Jan 10, 2024:: The devotees of Lord Ram in BJP had sought permission from the police to perform Ram Puja at Kalighat on January 22, the Prana-Pratistha (consecartion) day of Ayodhya Ram Mandir a month in advance. But, Kolkata police did not give any permission to that effect. Now, the main opposition party of the state approached the Court of Law after not getting that permission. Tusharkanti Ghosh, in-charge of West Bengal BJP’s media cell, filed a case in the Calcutta High Court.

As reports came in,  Rampujan (worship of Lord Ram)  has been organized near 66 Palli Club in Kalighat on the very day of January 22, the opening day of Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Beside this, the inauguration ceremony of Ram Mandir will be shown on LED TV from morning.

Along with puja,distribution of prasad  (sacraments) and cultural programs are also organized. The BJP had applied to the police seeking permission for the event. But after not getting the permission, an application has been made to the Calcutta High Court to get relief. The case is likely to be heard next Monday in the court of Justice Jai Sengupta.

It may be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has requested to perform Ram Puja across the country on the day of the inauguration of Ram Mandir in every local temples considering those as Ayodhya. He also requested the countrymen to light the five diyas as ‘Ram Jyoti’ to celebrate the event like Diwali.

In West Bengal, Hindus see the maximum violation of their religious rights, denied the permission of Hindu religious festivals or programmes; when not a single Muslim religious programmes are denied by the WB Police and Administration, so far.
