Headmaster held for making pupils ‘disavow Hindu gods’.

Headmaster who was making ‘students take oath not to worship Hindu deities’ and ‘trying conversion’ arrested by Chhattisgarh Police. 

Upendra Bharti | HENB | Raipur | Jan 29, 2024:: A government primary school headmaster in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh, who was earlier suspended pending an an inquiry for allegedly asking his students to pledge their disbelief in Hindu gods and embrace Buddhism, was arrested on Sunday.

A video of headmaster Ratanlal Sarovar of Ratanpur government primary school at Bharari showed him asking the students and villagers to take a pledge, saying: “I will not have faith in Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh as gods and will not worship them either, and I will not have belief in any God and deities of Hindu religion. One should adopt Buddhism and shun Ram-Krishna.” This oath is believed similar to the 22 oaths administered by Dr B R Ambedkar once in Bauddha Dharama Deeksha on October 14, 1956 in Nagpur.

The accused Head Master Ratanlal Sarovar (R) was arrested by Chhattisgarh Police.

The video went viral on January 26 as revealed but sources says that the accused headmaster administered the oath in his native village at nearby Mohatrai on January 22, at the very day of consecration of Ayodhya Ram Temple, as Ratanlal was very much displeased with the inauguration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

A case has been registered in Ratanpur police station against the accused head master under Sec. 153-A and Sec. 295-A as reports came in .
