WB: Hindus hit Raiganj streets protesting Mamata Banerjee’s remarks against Kartik Maharaj.

North Bengal: Sadhus and devotees hit Raiganj streets in protest against Mamata Banerjee’s attack on Kartik Maharaj and other Hindu organisations.   

Maduchanda Basak | HENB | Raiganj | May 27, 2024:: In protest against Mamata Banerjee’s remarks slamming Kartik Maharaj (Swami Pradiptananda), a monk in the world famous charitable organisation Bharat Sevashram Sangha, whom she accused of acting on the behest of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, several sadhus, devotees and supporters of various Hindu oraganisations hit the streets of raiganj in North Bengal  on Monday.

Earlier, thousands monks, saints and their followers from different Ashram and Muths participated in ‘Sant Swabhiman Yatra’ in Kolkata on Friday (May 24, 2024) in a protest against WB CM Mamata Banerjee for attacking Hindu Saints and Monks from her election meetings where she also attacked some monks of Ramakrishna Mission (RKM)  and International Socirty for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). Now the Hindu protest against Mamata Banerjee from South Bengal to North Bengal as Hindu mass took out rally sowing their solidarity with the monks and saints of BSS, RKM and ISKCON.  

The participants in Raiganj rally were seen chanting slogans to remove Mamata as the chief minister of the state. They also raised slogans that the defamation against Hindus and Hindu organisations would not be tolerated by the people of Hindustan, as “Hindu Sannyasider apoman soibe na ar Hindustan“.   

“All monks are not the same… I have always respected Bharat Sevashram Sangha. But I came to know there is a monk in Baharampur, named Kartik Maharaj, who said he won’t allow TMC agents to sit in the polling booths. I don’t respect such a monk. I don’t consider him as a monk,” said Mamata in an Arambag meeting.

Following massive Hindu outrage against her remarks, she repeated her comment and clarified that she only spoke about a particular monk.

“I have only spoken against an individual. I have no problem if someone supporting the BJP but I urge him to do it publicly… I don’t speak without evidence,” Mamata had said in a successive election meeting in Onda.

Led by the Monks of Raigang Bharat Sevashran Sangha Branch, good numbers of Hindus assembled in the Devinagar Ground and rallied upto Ghori More passing through Mohanbati areas. Monks of different Hindu sects and the devotees connected with BSS, RKM, ISKCON and Goudiya Math participated in the rally and demanded an apology from WB CM for her objectionable remarks against respected monks and saints of different Hindu organisations.
