Chhattisgarh: Tensions flare after Hindutva group objects to mosque construction in Hindu area.

Upendra Bharti | HENB | Raipur | July 9, 2024:: In  Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon, communal tensions flared as members of the Bajrang Dal mobilized locals in protest against the construction of a mosque on Friday, July 5. It is said that the Muslims were trying to expand the mosque in a Hindu area in the name of renovation.

The demonstrators cited concerns over alarming issues such as ‘love jihad’, ‘cattle slaughter’, ‘blaring adhan five times’, ‘Islamic conversion’ and the ‘presence of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants’ in the area as reasons for their objections.

Bajrang Dal members gathered near the mosque’s construction site, staging a demonstration and raising slogans against the ongoing construction work. As per reports, the construction works were temporarily stopped. It is also said that there is a plan to set up a Madrasah (Islamic seminary) there to spread Islamic education accordingly. The Mosques and Madrasas are considered as the epicentres of Jihad to destroy world peace.

The Bajrang Dal protesters also issued threats to the district administration, demanding the partial demolition of the mosque under construction, which was illegally built up without any plan.

The group warned of potential widespread unrest affecting communal harmony in the region if their demands were not met.

In India, Muslim fundamental groups and Zakat Foundation are spending a huge amount to build Mosques in Hindu areas or nearby Hindu areas and giving big shapes for the old small mosques in order to spread their Jihadi network through their place of worship and weekly congregation (Friday Namaj for Khutbah).
