In the wake of the disappearance of a girl from Pathar area of Sangamner taluka of Ahmednagar district, the aggrieved Hindus demanded strict law for to stop love jihad in the state of Maharashtra.
Members of the Hindutva organizations under the banner of ‘Sakal Hindu Samaj’ have accused a Muslim youth of abducting a 19-year-old Hindu girl and marrying her in Ambi Khalsa of Sangamner taluka on July 7. Bandh was observed in Ghargaon in protest of this incident.
The girl has gone missing from Pathar area of Sangamner taluk. Bajrang Dal demanded immediate arrest of the accused who kidnapped the girl. A public outcry march was warned if no action was taken against the accused.
As the police did not take any action in this regard, a huge public protest march was organized from Ambi Khalsa to Ghargaon by Hindutva organizations. A large number of activists of Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Bharatiya Janata Party, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and the villagers of Pathar region participated in this march.
Office bearers and supporters of Hindutva organizations had gathered at Ambi Khalsa in the morning for this march. The march started from Ambi Khalsa with slogans to reach Ghargaon. The march converged into a meeting in the Ghargaon bus stand area.
Milind Ekbote, cow vigilante from Pune, Yogesh Suryavanshi, regional president of Eklavya Sangathan, Rohinitai Maharaj Raut, Suresh Kalda, Gulab Bhosle, Kuldeep Thakur of Bajrang Dal, BJP’s assembly election committee chief Amol Khatal, Kishore Doke of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, Suresh Kanada, Gulab Bhosle, Sarpanch of Ambi Khalsa Gram Panchayat Balasaheb Dhole, Ramesh Aher, Suresh Kanhore, Rajendra Bodke, activists of Hindutva organizations and villagers were present in large numbers.
In the protest meeting held in the Ghargaon bus station area, many speakers strongly condemned the girl’s abduction case. They demanded strict action against the accused in this case. They also demanded immediate transfer of Police Inspector Khedkar of Ghargaon Police Station.
At this time, Yogesh Suryavanshi said, we have taken all the information about the kidnapping case of the girl. There are conspiracies going on to abduct Hindu girls by Muslim perpetrators. The accused should be arrested in time otherwise there will be more intense agitation. Suryavanshi warned not to force the Hindus to take law into their hands. He also demanded a strict law to stop Love Jihad to protect the Hindu girls and women in Maharashtra.
