‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas band karo’, ‘No need of Minority Morcha’ : Suvendu Adhikari.

Suv Adhi

Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari’s Hindutva approach of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas band karo’ & ‘No need of Minority Morcha’ garner supports.

‘Jo hamare saath hum unke saath,’ Suvendu Adhikari says at BJP’s first extended working committee meeting after the Lok Sabha polls.

Shatarupa Ghosh | HENB | Kolkata | July 17, 2024:: West Bengal BJP MLA from Nandigram and leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari said on Wednesday that there was no need for the “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” slogan which was actually given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that the saffron party should wind up with its minority wing.

“We will save Hindus and we will save the Constitution. I have spoken about nationalist Muslims and you all said ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. But I will say it no more. Rather we will now say ‘jo hamare saath hum unke saath’. Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas band karo. (We are with those who are with us. Let’s put an end to ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’),” the Nandigram MLA said at the state BJP’s first working committee meeting after the Lok Sabha polls, in Kolkata. The programme of  BJP’s first extended working committee meeting was held in Science City Auditorium comprising 2000 delegates from all the districts of West Bengal to frame its political strategy to fight against the repression on the party workers made by the ruling party- Trinamool Congress.

“There is no need for a minority morcha (for the BJP),” Adhikari  categorically added.

Though there was no immediate visible reaction from other state BJP leaders to Adhikari’s statement on the prime minister’s slogan, Suvendu tried to give a clarification for his speech apprehending an invisible pressure on him by some quarters.

Adhikari had later clarified that he meant to say that the party in Bengal should align with those who support them politically. Adhikari said that the ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ slogan of PM Modi was the NDA government’s agenda, and it won’t change. On his stand, “there is no need of minority morcha”, Adhikari put forth his idea to not treat the Muslims as minority considering them equal to the majority people. Adhikari told the Media persons that his opinion was individual and it was not related with the development programme of Government of India.

Though Suvendu Adhikari who is facing flak for saying that it was time to stop the slogan of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and ‘No need of Minority Morcha’, he has also got the support of many prominent Hindutva personalities and BJP  veteran leaders.

When BJP’s veteran leader Tathagata Roy spoke up in support of Suvendu Adhikari after row over ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas band karo’ remarks, Hindu Existence Editor Upananda Brahmachari has also supported the Hindutva approach of Suvendu as he advocated, “No need of minority morcha”.

Veteran BJP leader and former Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy said that Adhikari was not opposing the ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ slogan coined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but was instead talking about the different approach it needs in different states.

In an interview in TV9 Bangla,  Roy justified the remarks of Suvendu Adhikary considering the ground reality of present situation of Bengal.

Tathagata criticised the Muslim mindset to take all the facilities from the initiatives of PM Modi but not to support him anyway.

Bengal BJP leader Arjun Singh also supported Suvendu Adhikari unequivocally.

Veteran Hindutva thinker and Hindu Existence editor,  Upananda Bharhmachari wholeheartedly supported Suvendu Adhikari.

Taking his X handle, Brahmachari wrote, “I fully endorse the version of Suvendu Adhikari as he voiced as “Savka Saath Savka Vikash Band Karo” and “No need of Minority Morcha”. Adhikari is the most prominent face of Hindutva in Bengal BJP. Welcome!

Spoke to this reporter, Brahmachari conveyed, “I have been saying this for a long time, stop development with everyone, close the minority cell in BJP. Though late, now Suvendu has made that bold comment.”
