However, such incidents are not isolated, there are large allegations that Christians lure individuals, mainly from poor Hindu  community into conversion through financial incentives.

B Upendran | HENB | Vellore | July 30, 2023:: Members of the Hindu Munnani  foiled  an event of Christians in Vellore town of Tamil Nadu, alleging that it was a front for religious conversions. The incident occurred in the exact location of Pettai area of Vellore in Tamil Nadu.

The video of the incident surfaced on social media on Sunday, July 28. The incident reflects increasing opposition against Christian  programmes in the name of ‘faith healing’ in India  by many Hindutva groups to check the conversion ploy designed by the Church networks.

The programme was organised under the banner, “There Is Hope For You Through Jesus Christ”.

The viral video shows, members of Hindu Munnani which is a Hindutva organisation based in Tamil Nadu, confronting attendees of a Christian gathering, claiming the event was aimed at converting poor Hindus to Christianity.

The disruption escalated to a point where the event was forcibly stopped in the presence of Police, as reported.

Earlier on Friday, July 5, Hindutva outfits, led by a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader, attacked Christians in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur over allegations of forced religious conversion.

The mob left the attendees, including women, with grievous injuries. Subsequently, the Mathura Gate police team arrived and arrested 20 people.

However, such incidents are not isolated, there are large allegations that Christians lure individuals, mainly from poor Hindu  community into conversion through financial incentives or other facilities and services.
