Complaint Against Arfa Khanum Sherwani for Insulting Lord Shiva.

Devout Hindutva advocate Amita Sachdeva lodged complaint against anti-Hindu journalist Arfa Khanum Sherwani of The Wire  for ‘blatant insult to Lord Shiva’.

Upendra Bharti | HENB | New Delhi | Aug 4, 2024:: Devout Hindutva advocate Amita Sachdeva who is connected to Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, lodged a complaint to Cyber Cell South of Delhi Police against anti-Hindu journalist Arfa Khanum Sherwani of ‘The Wire’  for ‘blatant insult to Lord Shiva.’ 

Arfa who is infamous for her derogatory stand against Hinduism recently posted  a picture of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla holding a dustbin. The picture resembles with the popular image of Pravas holding a Shiva Ling in the film Baahubali. The post of Arafa in X created a big row amounting to Hindu discontent.

In her letter to Cyber Cell South of Delhi Police Advocate Sachdeva wrote,  “I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Arfa Khanum Sherwani for her recent actions, which have deeply offended the sentiments of the Hindu community. She has placed a ‘dustbin’ in place of a ‘Shivling’, an act that is seen as a blatant insult to Lord Shiva. This is not an isolated incident, as Sherwani, an Islamist journalist from ‘The Wire’, has a history of displaying hatred towards Hinduism. Her actions are not only disrespectful but also incite communal disharmony. I believe that this act falls under the following sections of the BNS (Bharatiya Naya Samhita, formerly Indian Penal Code). 

“Section 299 of BNS, 2023: Deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs.

“Section 196 of BNS, 2023: Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony.

“Section 353 of BNS, 2023: Statements creating or promoting enmity, hatred, or ill-will between classes.

“Such behavior should not be tolerated, and I request you to take immediate action against her to ensure that such incidents do not recur.

“Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

The matter or of complaint is now under contemplation od Delhi Police Authority for a stringent action against  Arfa Khanum Sherwani.
