Unity is Strength: Yogi Warns Hindus of Bangladesh -like Fate if Divided.

UP CM Yogi asks Hindus to remain united else they will face ‘Bangladesh-like’ fate in future.

Speaking at a function in Agra, Adityanath also slammed the opposition parties for not commenting on the violence against the Hindus in Bangladesh.

YogiUpendra Bharti | HENB | Lucknow | Aug 26, 2024:: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a remark on Monday that appeared to be an attempt to polarize the majority community ahead of the upcoming by-elections for ten assembly seats. He warned Hindus to remain united, suggesting that a failure to do so would lead to a situation similar to the recent violence in Bangladesh, where Hindus were targeted.

At a ceremony in Agra marking the birth anniversary of Rashtraveer Durgadas Rathore, where a statue of the national hero was unveiled, Adityanath also lambasted opposition parties for their silence on the violence perpetrated against Hindus in Bangladesh.

Aap dekh rahe hain Bangladesh mein kya ho raha hai? Wo galatiyan yahan nahi honi chahiye. Batenge toh katenge! Ek rahenge to nek rahenge, surakshit rahenge aur samriddhi ki parakashtha ko pahuchenge,” (Are you seeing what is happening in Bangladesh? Those mistakes should not take place here. Divided, we will be slaughtered. If we remain united, we will be good, secure and reach the pinnacle of prosperity), the saffron-clad chief minister said after unveiling the statue of Durgadas Rathore, a kshatriya warrior, who had fought Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in the 17th century.

He said that nothing could be greater than the country. ‘’We should learn from history and commit mistakes,’’ he added.

Recently, Bangladesh experienced a wave of violence targeting the Hindu community amidst protests against the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The unrest resulted in significant damage to numerous Hindu homes, temples, and places of worship, sparking concerns about religious tolerance and minority rights in the country.

Adityanath, seemingly alluding to the calls for a caste-based census by the Congress and other parties, warned that attempts were being made to fragment Hindu society. He emphasized that dividing Hindus would only lead to weakness, underscoring the importance of unity and solidarity among the community.

Chief Minister Adityanath declared that the government would eradicate all remnants of colonialism and slavery, while paying tribute to the brave heroes who laid down their lives for India’s freedom. His statements hold significant political weight, coming as they do on the eve of crucial assembly by-polls for ten seats in the state, which are pivotal for the BJP’s prospects. By invoking the themes of nationalism and liberation, Adityanath aims to galvanize support for his party and reinforce its ideological stance ahead of the elections.

“Adityanath’s comments seemed to be a strategic move to consolidate Hindu support and counter the opposition’s attempts to hold the BJP accountable for issues related to reservation policies for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. By shifting the focus to symbols of slavery and honoring Hindu heroes, the Chief Minister appeared to be trying to polarize Hindu voters and deflect attention from the contentious issue of reservation, potentially blunting the opposition’s attack on the BJP’s stance on social justice and equality.

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav responded to the Chief Minister’s comments, suggesting that they betrayed Adityanath’s aspirations for the prime ministerial post. ‘We are aware of your desire to become Prime Minister,’ Akhilesh remarked, ‘but matters pertaining to foreign affairs are best left to the central government, rather than being exploited for political gain.

During a public event in Mathura on August 25, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized the opposition, stating that they were selective in their condemnation of human rights issues. He pointed out that while they were vocal about the situation in Palestine, they remained silent on the plight of Hindus in Bangladesh, where temples were being destroyed and Hindus were facing violence.

” (They can see Palestine, but they can’t see Bangladesh… Because in Bangladesh temples are being destroyed and Hindus are being killed…)
