Press Brief

RSS conclave to plan centenary celebrations, address attacks on Bangladesh Hindus, and explore solutions for community’s safety and well-being.

Top RSS leaders, 32 affiliate organisations to attend national coordination meet in Palakkad, Kerala.

B Upendran | HENB | Palakkad | Aug 30, 2024:: The Akhil Bharatiya Samanway Baithak, a three-day national coordination conclave organized by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), will commence on Saturday and Sunday at the Ahalia campus, here in Palakkad. A key agenda item will be the recent attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, which will be discussed at length to explore solutions and strategies for ensuring the community’s safety and well-being.

RSS national spokesperson Sunil Ambekar announced on Friday in the pre-session, that the upcoming conclave will address the recent attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, along with various other concerns raised by leaders of 32 RSS-affiliated organizations. While he confirmed the inclusion of these issues on the agenda, Ambekar declined to provide further details or elaborate on the discussion points.

The RSS conclave has brought together a significant gathering of 320 key leaders and office-bearers from the RSS and its 32 affiliate organizations. The attendees include 90 national and state-level leaders of the RSS, as well as 230 office-bearers from the affiliate organizations. The meeting is being held in a secluded setting, allowing for focused discussions and strategic planning.

This marks the first time the national coordination meeting is being held in Kerala, with previous editions taking place in various locations such as Pune last year,” noted Mr. Ambekar. He explained that the RSS-inspired organizations have established their own operational systems and leadership structures, and the conclave provides a platform for them to share their grassroots experiences and report on the challenges they face at both state and national levels. “The primary objective of this meeting is to explore ways to strengthen the coordination among our affiliate organizations,” he added.

The RSS leadership, including Sarsanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat, General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, and six Joint General Secretaries – Krishna Gopal, C.R. Mukund, Arun Kumar, Ram Dutt Chakradar, Atul Limaye, and Alok Kumar – will be in attendance at the Baithak. The event has also invited top leaders from 32 RSS-inspired organizations, including national presidents, organizing secretaries, and other key figures,” said Mr. Ambekar. He was accompanied by K.K. Balram, Prantha Sangh Chalak of Northern Kerala, and Pradeep Joshi, National Saha Prachar Pramukh from Nagpur.

As the RSS enters its centenary year, Mr. Ambekar reflected on the organization’s remarkable journey, noting that it has achieved its objective of social transformation over the past 99 years. With 73,000 sakhas across the country, the RSS has been steadfastly committed to its mission of ‘man-making’ and nation-building, shaping individuals and society as a whole,” he said.

The RSS is gearing up to celebrate its centenary on a grand scale, with plans to mark the milestone at both national and international levels. The Hindu Swayamsevak Sangha, the overseas chapter of RSS, will take the lead in organizing the centenary celebrations globally, showcasing the organization’s widespread presence and influence.

The RSS centenary celebrations will commence on Vijayadashami day in 2025 and culminate on Vijayadashami day in 2026. To mark this significant milestone, the organization will launch five key initiatives, dubbed ‘Panchaparivarthan‘, aimed at driving social transformation. These initiatives focus on fostering social harmony (Samajik Samrasata), family values awakening (Kutumb Prabodhan), Protection of environment (Paryavaran Samrakshan), self-empowerment (Swa-shakti jagran), and civic responsibility (Nagarik Kartavya),” announced Mr. Ambekar.
