Stop this desecration of Durga idols in the name of immersion!

WB CM Mamata Banjeree’s Adminstrations cut Durga idols into pieces in the name of Visarjan. What a hell for Hindus in Bengal!

Alarming reports emerge from West Bengal, where Durga Pratima (idols) are being dismantled (cutting the idols into pieces with electric saw) in public spaces under the guise of Visarjan (immersion). Critics argue that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s administration has enabled this disturbing trend, potentially hurting the sentiments of millions of Bengali Hindus.

Eyewitnesses claim this incident occurred at Kadamtala Ganga Ghat in Krishnanagar, Nadia district.

The matter came to fore in various platforms of social media.

It is not known the role of Krishnanagar MP Mahua Moitra behind this anti-Hindu perpetration conducted by Krishnanagar Municipal authority.

In Hindu worship, idols are consecrated by ‘Pranapratishta‘ rituals, and those cannot be cut into pieces anyway. There are many ways to restrict immersion to prevent river-water pollution, but such vilification is never acceptable. Even after the completion of Dashmi Puja, the Durga idols are kept for Varan (departing adoration) and  send for immersion only after the Varan is completed. But, what is this hell of Hindus in West Bengal where Devi Pratimas are cut into pieces by government authorities or local bodies.  In many places in India, Hindu idol immersions are made in artificial ponds or water bodies or idols are dissolved in water sprayers to avoid pollution. But, such Idol cutting to make debris in the name of immersion is unprecedented in India or abroad.

When, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banaerjee organises Durga Visarjan carnival in Kolkata and many places in West Bengal to garner a Hindu popularity, at the same time she opted an utterly derogatory ways to cut Durga idols for a fake ‘Visarjan’ only to appease her Muslim minority vote bank who clearly oppose the Durga Puja as an un-Islamic practice.

This year Muslim perpetrators in WB challenged and threatened the Durgapuja in Shitalkuchi (Cooch Behar), Falakata (Alipurduar), Garden Reach (Kolkata) and Shyampur (Howrah) in the rise of Islamist perpetration. At the same time Krishnanagar Municipality deployed hired Muslim menials to cut Durga idols to make those in debris for sending the same in garbage stations.

The available video shows that a person wearing shoes sprinkled some water upon the idols and the operation of Idol cutting used to start with eclectic saw.

Upananda Brahmachari, the editor of Hindu Existence, has called upon prominent lawyers like Dr. Subramanian Swamy, Ashwini Upadhyay, J Sai Deepak, Vishnu Shankar Jain, and Amita Sachdeva to take legal action against those responsible for the desecration of Durga idols in West Bengal. This incident is being seen as a grave vilification of Hindu rituals and an attack on Hindu sentiments.
