Canadian PM Trudeau issues blunt statement on Brampton Hindu temple attack.

Brampton Protest

When the Khalistani ghost is out of the bottle….

The individuals who are inciting violence and division and hatred in no way represent either the Sikh community or the Hindu community in Canada: Justin Trudeau.

Trudeau JustinSameer Sardana | HENB | Ontario | Nov 7, 2024:: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has seemingly condemned in a strong pitch the violent attacks on the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton, Ontario, which occurred on November 3. The attacks, reportedly carried out by individuals linked to Khalistani separatist groups, have sparked significant concern and outrage. Trudeau emphasized that the Sikh and Hindu communities in Canada should not be blamed for these actions, instead attributing the violence to individuals inciting hatred and division.

However, some critics argue that Trudeau’s statement is merely a face-saving attempt, as Hindus and Hindu temples continue to be targeted by Khalistani extremists who are allegedly gaining an anti-Indian and anti-Hindu foothold in Canada. Others see Trudeau’s condemnation of both Sikh and Hindu communities as a blunt and ineffective response to the Brampton temple attack.

The incident has raised tensions between India and Canada, with the Indian High Commission issuing a strong statement condemning the attack and expressing concern for the safety of Indian nationals. The High Commission remarked that despite the disruptions caused by anti-India elements, their consulate was still able to issue over 1000 life certificates to Indian and Canadian applicants.

“The violence we have seen in South Asian communities across the country over the past few nights, let me be very clear. The individuals who are inciting violence and division and hatred in no way represent either the Sikh community or the Hindu community in Canada,” PM Trudeau stated.

PM Trudeau also tried to reaffirm his commitment to the unity of Canada’s multicultural society, stressing that Diwali and Bandi Chhor Diwas, celebrated by Hindus and Sikhs alike, should be a time of togetherness and shared values. “At the time of Diwali and Bandi Chhor Diwas, we are seeing communities come together to celebrate their diversity and strength; we will continue to stand for the unity of Canadians,” Trudeau said.

The recent attack on the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton, Ontario, has sparked widespread outrage and concern within the Hindu-Canadian community. Reports indicate that women and children were targeted during the attack, which is particularly disturbing. This incident is part of a larger trend of escalating tensions involving pro-Khalistani groups in Canada, who have been advocating for an independent Sikh state.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has bluntly condemned the violence, emphasizing that it does not represent the broader Sikh or Hindu communities in Canada, which have a long history of peaceful coexistence. Trudeau stated, “The individuals who are inciting violence and division and hatred in no way represent either the Sikh community or the Hindu community in Canada.” But, condemning the Hindus for Brampton temple attack in the same row of condemning the Khalistani perpetrators is a matter of procrastination to punish the actual culprits.

The Indian High Commission in Canada has also denounced the attacks, expressing concern for the safety of Indian nationals and applicants. In response to the growing unrest, the Consulate General of India in Toronto has canceled several consular camps across Canada due to security concerns.

Indian High Commission Strongly Condemns “Anti-India” Propagations

The Indian High Commission in Canada has strongly condemned the violent disruptions caused by “anti-India” elements at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton, near Toronto. On November 3, a consular camp organized in collaboration with the Hindu Sabha Mandir was disrupted, and the High Commission expressed deep disappointment and concern over the incident.

In a statement, the High Commission mentioned that despite the disruptions, over 1,000 life certifications were issued to Indian and Canadian applicants. However, they emphasized that future consular camps will be organized contingent on security arrangements made by local authorities.

The incident has sparked widespread criticism, with Canadian opposition leader Pierre Poilievre condemning the attack as “completely unacceptable”. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also condemned the attack, emphasizing that every Canadian has the right to practice their faith freely and safely.

This incident is part of a larger trend of escalating tensions involving pro-Khalistani groups in Canada, who have been advocating for an independent Sikh state. The Hindu Canadian Foundation, a non-profit organization working for the Hindu community in Canada, shared a video of the attack on the temple, stating that Khalistani terrorists attacked kids and women.

The Indian High Commission’s condemnation of the disruptions highlights the growing concern over the safety of Indian nationals in Canada. The incident has also raised questions about the ability of Canadian authorities to protect minority communities and prevent such violent disruptions in the future.
