Madhuri Shinde | HENB | Mumbai | Dec 26, 2024:: Christmas celebrations in Mumbai’s Kashimira region were halted by Hindutva workers, who alleged that local church members were operating a conversion racket during the event. The group from the church was reportedly abusing Hindu deities and urging Hindu slum dwellers to seek refuge in Jesus Christ.

A video has emerged on social media showing children participating in Christmas celebrations organized by an unnamed organization in a slum area.

The visuals then depict a group of Hindutva workers prompting the children to declare, “We are Hindus,” followed by recitations of the Hanuman Chalisa and chants of “Jai Shri Ram.”

In a similar incident in Kerala, members of the right-wing organizations Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal stormed a school in Palakkad, disrupting Christmas celebrations. They objected to teachers wearing Santa Claus costumes, alleging promotion of “another religious culture” among Hindu students. Three individuals were subsequently arrested.

To counter Christian influences on Hindu children in schools and society, various Hindutva organizations have been observing “Tulsi Pujan Diwas” on a grand scale across India.
