Upendra Bharti | HENB | Lucknow | Jan 8, 2025:: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made a significant pledge to reclaim land taken under waqf and utilize it for public welfare. This move is part of his efforts to promote the Sanatan Dharma tradition, which he believes is being undermined by opposition forces seeking to divide society.
Adityanath has been vocal about his criticism of the Waqf Board, accusing it of functioning like land mafias. He has emphasized the need to reclaim these lands and use them for the betterment of the community. The Chief Minister has also highlighted the importance of national unity, particularly during the Maha Kumbh event, which is expected to attract millions of devotees from around the world.
In addition to his pledge, Adityanath has also been promoting the development of Ayodhya, which is considered a sacred city in Hinduism. His efforts aim to showcase India’s rich cultural heritage and promote national unity.
Speaking at the ‘Maha Kumbh Mahasammelan’ organised by a private news channel here on Wednesday, the UP CM claimed that the belief system of Sanatan Dharma represents the world’s oldest culture, standing above comparison with any religion or sect.
He emphasized the significance of Sanatan Dharma, claiming it represents the world’s oldest culture, surpassing any religion or sect. He stated, “I inherit a legacy that spans thousands of years, with its cultural and spiritual events equally ancient. The tradition of Sanatan is higher than the sky and beyond comparison”.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of Hindu unity as the foundation of national unity, highlighting his message with the phrase “Batenge to Katenge,” which translates to “if we are divided, we will be slaughtered”. This statement serves as a call to action, urging Hindus to unite in the face of adversity and warning against the dangers of division. By highlighting the significance of Hindu unity, CM Yogi aims to promote national cohesion and prevent the kind of communal violence that has plagued neighboring countries like Bangladesh.
Yogi Adityanath highlighted the significance of the Mahakumbh, explaining that it is rooted in Hindu mythology. According to legend, after the battle between gods and demons, known as Devasura Sangram, drops of nectar fell from a pitcher that emerged from the Samudra Manthan, or the churning of the ocean, at four sacred locations: Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nashik. These sites host the Kumbh and Mahakumbh festivals every six and 12 years, respectively.
Adityanath also highlighted the importance of the Maha Kumbh, explaining that it symbolizes India’s spiritual heritage and national unity. He noted that the event has served as a platform for shaping India’s knowledge, ideology, and social direction throughout history.
Additionally, Adityanath announced that the Uttar Pradesh government will reclaim every inch of land taken under the pretext of Waqf, stating that it will be used to build housing, educational institutions, and hospitals for the poor.
