Places of Worship Act is a crime against democracy: Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev.

Upendra Bharti | HENB | New Delhi | Jan 26, 2025:: The Spiritual Guru and Founder of Isha Foundation,  Jaggi Vasudev, who is famous for his ‘Inner Engineering’,  has stated recently that the Places of Worship Act is a crime against democracy and it needs to be changed.

Actually, Sadhguru delivered his insightful comments on Sanatan, Kumbh, Waqf, Bangladesh Hindus and many more in an interview with Navika Kumar of Times Now during his Mahakumbh visit..

In that exclusive Newshour debate, Sadhguru, India’s spiritual guiding light,  discussed on  some of the most pressing issues of our time. From the holy banks of the Sangam, Sadhguru shared his views on ‘Liberation’ and the significance of Mahakumbh. The conversation delved into the ongoing debates around the Samvidhan (Constitution) and the rising ‘Sanatan Slander.’

Though a post in X on Jan 26, Sadhguru reiterated his view on ‘Places of Worship Act’ by stating, “The Places of Worship Act is a crime against Indian democracy. When you tell a citizen of the nation that he or she cannot go to court and find legal recourse for some problem that they have, that is against the fundamental ethos of a democracy”.

The exclusive interview of Sadhguru is now also available in You Tube channels which must be heard by all the political leaders and common people as well.

Speaking to Navika Kumar, Sadhguru said, “I understand if they tell that we cannot start a war on the streets. I understand when they tell that we cannot claim ownership of a place of worship, even though we know there is a temple underneath. I get it. But telling citizens that they cannot even go to court for seeking legal remedies for an issue? Where is democracy then? It is a different matter if we fail to prove our claim in court. But how can the right to go to court be denied? What kind of law is that?”

In a candid way Sadhguru commented of Places of Worship Act, “When you tell a citizen of the nation that he or she cannot go to court and find legal recourse for some problem that they have, that is against the fundamental ethos of a democracy.”

Describing the situation of Bangladesh as not a ‘War’ but a ‘different situation’, Sadhguru advocated for the protection of Bangladeshi Hindu minorities facing persecution, arson, loot, rape and killings discriminatorily. He also urged strategical and international interference to pacify the Bangladesh situation.

Ridiculing the Waqf claim of Kumbh sites, Sadhguru pointed out the Kumbh occurrence from time immemorial when Islam was nonexistent.  Sadhguru pressed for a complete removal of Waqf Act.

Praising the Yogi Govt’s effort for a huge and good management of Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, Sadhguru reminded the significance of Sanatan and the way of liberation propounded in Sanatan Hindu Dharma.
