Prayagraj Maha Kumbh Stampede – a conspiracy: Dheerendra Krishna Shastri.

Dheerendra Krishna Shastri said on the stampede in Kumbh- a conspiracy was hatched to tarnish the image of Hindutva.

According to him, it was a “sponsored conspiracy”. While talking to news agency IANS, he said, “The stampede that happened in Maha Kumbh is a sponsored conspiracy. I am saddened by this. This is a very sad incident. There was a big conspiracy behind this, under which there was an attempt to tarnish the image of Hindutva and to harm the Hindus in a large scale.”

On Maha Kumbh, he said that “तन रहेगा तो वतन रहेगा, तन रहेगा तो सनातन रहेगा-If the body remains, the country will remain, if the body remains, Sanatan will remain”, therefore devotees should take Maha Snan in Maha Kumbh. He appealed to the devotees not to crowd at Sangam Ghat because a huge crowd on a single day of the festival can create problems. You can come and take a bath in Sangam on any day in any bathing ghats at the bank of Ganga.

30 devotees have died

It is noteworthy that on 29 January, crores of devotees had reached Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh to take Amrit Snan on Mauni Amavasya. A stampede occurred when the devotees were moving towards the Sangam coast. 30 people died in this incident and more than 90 people were injured either normally or seriously. A compensation of Rs 25 lakh each has also been announced by the Yogi government for the families of the deceased. Also, the injured devotees are being treated under the supervision of doctor with highest care.

Yogi government ordered investigation

Yogi government has ordered judicial investigation of this incident. An investigation committee has been formed under the chairmanship of former judge Harsh Kumar for judicial investigation of Kumbh accident. Retired officers V.K. Gupta and B.K. Singh will be included in the committee. Police will also investigate why such an accident happened and information will be obtained about it.

Multiple stampedes have occurred before the Mouni Amavasya Snan, including one at the Jhunsi side. Eyewitnesses reported concerns over police deployment and management lapses, as well as an alleged conspiracy by a group of youth that created a ruckus, broke barricades, and damaged a police outpost.

Additionally, some Muslim groups have claimed that the Kumbh Mela was held on Waqf lands, which span across the Jhunsi side. This claim has added another layer of complexity and suspicion to the situation.

The VIP culture at the Mahakumbh, which provided special privileges and ease to VVIPs and VIPs, drew public ire after the stampedes. The preferential treatment was seen as causing inconvenience to the general public.

Now the situation is normal

After the stampede in Maha Kumbh, the situation here is normal. Devotees and saints are taking bath in Sangam. At the same time, the fair administration and the district administration are busy preparing for the bath to be held on Basant Panchami. Diversion scheme will be implemented on this day.
