Sreejeet Dasgupta | HENB | Kolkata | March 23, 2025:: RSS took refuge in the infamous agreement of the Nehru-Liaquat Pact, in protest of which Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee resigned from the Union Cabinet of Nehru Government. The policy makers of the Sangh now believe that it is only right for the Indian government to issue a statement for the Hindus of Bangladesh without taking any meaningful action. Hindutva activists are disappointed with the line of false sympathy shown by the RSS-BJP for the minority Hindus of Bangladesh.
Instead of thinking of giving shelter to Hindus affected in Bangladesh, the RSS believes that it is necessary to ensure their safety and security in their own land which is absurd and arbitrary in the Islamist run Bangladesh. A resolution was passed at the All India Representative Meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Bengaluru on March 22, calling a so called solidarity for the Hindus in Bangladesh in the wake of attacks and human rights violations against them. According to the RSS, attacks on Hindus and minorities in Bangladesh are nothing new. That is why the percentage of Hindus in the population of Bangladesh has come down from 22.5 percent in 1951 to 7.95 percent now. But now there is government institutional support for attacks on Hindus. As a result, Hindus in Bangladesh are now facing an existential crisis.
In its Bengaluru resolution on Bangladesh, RSS has notably omitted demanding the release of Chinmoy Krishna Das, a Hindu rights activist and monk, who has been languishing in a Bangladesh jail for several months.
The question has arisen, in that case, should we consider giving shelter to Hindus in India as refugees? RSS Joint Secretary Arun Kumar said, “After the partition, the Nehru-Liaquat Pact talked about the security of minorities. Those who live there should be ensured security there.” By this RSS has adopted the ‘let them die there’ policy for Bangladeshi Hindus.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a meeting with the members of the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of External Affairs of Parliament on the atrocities on minorities in Bangladesh and the current conflict situation. According to political sources, Jaishankar said in the meeting that India’s concern has been repeatedly conveyed to the Yunus government regarding the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. He also said that since this government is not a democratic government won by the people’s votes, but is merely an interim arrangement, there is a problem in holding any formal diplomatic meeting or issuing a joint statement with them.
It is learnt that the opposition MPs did not criticize the Modi government’s Bangladesh policy. Congress’s KC Venugopal, Manish Tewari, and Shiv Seva (Uddhav)’s Priyanka Chaturvedi were present in the meeting on the present situation of Bangladesh.
On the Narendra Modi government’s stance on attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, RSS’ Arun Kumar said, “We are satisfied with the work of the Indian government. The Indian government has drawn the attention of the interim government of Bangladesh to this issue. The Foreign Secretary was sent there. India is also raising this issue on the international stage. Continuous pressure must be maintained. International organizations must also put pressure on Bangladesh.” He alleged that Islamic forces as well as international forces are behind this. Pakistan and the ‘deep state’ of America are creating an atmosphere of distrust and conflict to create instability in India’s neighboring regions.
RSS’ policy of minority Hindus clearly against the application of CAA (Citizen Amendment Act) for persecuted Bangladeshi Hindus. Not only that such stance of RSS is putting a question mark on the implementation of NRC (National Register of Citizen) as the largest Hindutva organisation wants to maintain a statuesque on the persecuted Hindus in Bangladesh and Pakistan inducing not touching the illegal Muslims inside India. This is the greatest gift of RSS in its centenary year for the dying Hindus in Bangladesh and Pakistan and the increasing illegal Muslims in India.
