Minority Hindu youth shot dead by Muslim fanatics in Pakistan for the ‘crime’ of not converting to Islam.

Mahesh Vasu | HENB | Mumbai | April 1, 2025:: Despite repeated requests, he did not convert to Islam. As an effect, a Hindu youth was brutally shot dead for this crime by a fanatic Muslim. This sensational incident took place in Peshawar, Pakistan. As soon as the incident came to light, the security of minorities in Pakistan was again questioned. Hindus are dying everyday under the brutal torture of the Islamist people there.

According to Pakistani media sources, this incident took place in the Amin Colony area of ​​Peshawar (KPK Khyber Pakhtunkhwa). Allegedly, a man named Mushtaq (son of Gulzar)) shot dead a young man named Nadeem Nath (son of Maharaj Menna Nath)) on March 29. The deceased’s brother alleged that Mushtaq had been pressuring Nadeem Nath to convert to Islam for the past few months. However, he did not agree to the proposal. Due to which the accused plotted to kill Nadeem Nath. Mushtaq met Nadeem on Saturday. Before he could understand anything, the accused shot him at close range.  It is learnt that the Hindu youth was shot at in a market in Peshawar. He was a shopkeeper. He was sitting in his shop at the time of the incident. Suddenly two gunmen came and shot him and fled. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition, where he died during treatment. Nadeem’s brother Sagar Nath has filed a complaint with the local police station regarding this murder. However, it is known that no action has been taken against the accused by the police yet.

It is worth noting that Pakistan has repeatedly raised the issue of minority oppression in Jammu and Kashmir on the international stage. However, since the partition, minority oppression has been going on continuously in Pakistan. According to information, after the partition, the number of Hindus in Pakistan was  14.5 percent. That number is decreasing and currently stands at only 2.07 percent. Allegedly, forced marriage and rape of Hindu women have become common in Pakistan. Minorities are being forced to convert. If they do not agree, incidents like torture and murder are going on. Even though complaints are made to the Pakistani administration in this regard, no security is provided to the minorities.

Attacks on Hindus, Sikhs and other minorities are on the rise in Pakistan. Earlier, there were incidents of killings targeting minorities in Peshawar.

This incident clearly shows that the situation of minorities in Pakistan is deteriorating day by day. The lives, property, religious places and freedom of people from Hindu, Sikh, Christian and Ahmadiyya communities are constantly under threat.

In February, there were 10 incidents of atrocities on Hindus, 2 on Sikhs and 1 on Christians. There were even allegations of kidnapping and conversion of students celebrating Holi.
