Upendra Bharti | HENB | New Delhi | April 5, 2025:: In a straight forward statement, Swami Anand Swaroop, founder of Kali Sena, has called for Kashmir to be made ‘Islam-free’ and issued open threats to Muslims during the ongoing Char Dham Yatra. The remarks have raised concerns about potential escalation of interfaith tensions in the region as Hindus feel insecure to stay with the unpredictable Muslims as their neighbour .

Swami Anand Swaroop’s comments have been widely criticized, with many viewing them as an attempt to inflame communal sentiments. But most of the Uttarakhand Hindus accepted the remarks of Swami Anand Swaroop for raising their existential concern in Devabhoomi. The Char Dham Yatra, a sacred pilgrimage to four holy sites in Uttarakhand, is a significant event that attracts thousands of devotees. Amidst this backdrop, Swaroop’s statements have sparked fears of Pahalgam like attacks on Hindu pilgrims and tourists by the Muslim pony operators . More than 26 tourists were killed y the Jihadi terrorist in Pahalgam identifying the religion of their targets.

In a published video Swami Anand Swaroop claimed Kashmir as a land of Rishi (sage) Kashyap and Shankaracharya which was once owned by Maharaj Hari Singh. Swami Anand Swaroop urged the authority to free Kashmir from Islamic influence.

The region of Kashmir has a complex history of conflict unlike Uttrakhand, and such rhetoric is seen as particularly incendiary.
