Gujarat Police Crackdown: So far 1024 Bangladesh Nationals Detained, Mostly Muslims.

Early Morning Crackdown in Gujarat: Over a Thousand Bangladeshi nationals, mostly Muslims detained in major operations after  Pahalgam Hindu Genocide. 

Upendra Bharti | HENB | Nrw Delhi | April 25, 2025:: In a significant post Pahalgam move against illegal immigration, the Gujarat Police detained 1,024 Bangladesh nationals in a statewide operation conducted in Ahmedabad and Surat. Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi hailed the operation as a “historic victory” for the Gujarat Police, emphasizing the force’s commitment to tackling illegal immigration.

The operation, which began at 3 am on Saturday, saw the detention of 890 individuals in Ahmedabad and 134 in Surat. The detainees were allegedly residing in India without proper documentation, with many suspected of involvement in activities such as drug trafficking and human smuggling.

According to ANI’s initial reports, over 400 infiltrators were initially reported detained, afterwards the number exceeded 1,000 following further operations in various parts of Surat and Ahmedabad, as per other news sources.

Sanghavi warned those sheltering illegal immigrants would face legal consequences, stating, “If a single infiltrator is given shelter, then their condition will also be made bad. All types of legal steps will be taken on those sheltering them.”

The Gujarat government has intensified efforts to identify and deport illegal immigrants, with Director General of Police Vikas Sahay confirming a statewide crackdown. The operation is part of a broader initiative to enhance national security and address concerns about infiltration.

The BJP led Gujarat government’s actions demonstrate its apparent commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens. As the investigation unfolds, further details are expected to emerge about the detainees and their activities.

It’s an interesting observation, while Gujarat has indeed taken an action against illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators, other BJP-led states like Assam, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra haven’t seen similar operations. Delhi, another BJP-ruled state with a significant number of Bangladeshi infiltrators including Rohingyas, hasn’t undertaken such actions either. This disparity raises questions about the approach to addressing illegal immigration across different states with similar political leadership.

Conveying his concern Hindutva interlocutor and Hindu Existence website Editor, Upananda Brahmachari wrote in X, “The Gujarat Police and its Criminal Branch nabbed only 550 illegal Bandgladeshi infiltrators while there are 5.5 Crore illegal infiltrators are living in India. This action must run in all the States simultaneously with an urgent National Investigation Agency probe.“

In another tweet, Brahmachari asked whether the Union Goverment led by Narendra Modi and BJP governments in different states are serious enough to tackle the infiltration issues with seriousness. Brahmachri also assured his active part ‘to help NIA to detect & drive them out”.
