Every BJP MLA and MP Must Demand Hindu Rashtra as UP Deputy CM Backs Hindu Rashtra Call at a Right-Wing Event in Lucknow.

Recently BJP Dy CM Brajesh Pathak championed the Hindu Rrashtra Call without any hesitation. The event was organised by the Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad, a lesser-known Hindutva outfit with close ties to the BJP.

Upendra Bharti | HENB | Mew Delhi | May 10, 2025:: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has ignited a controversy by openly endorsing the call for a Hindu Rashtra at a right-wing event in Lucknow on May 4. The event, organized by the Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad (VHRP), a lesser-known Hindutva outfit with close ties to the BJP, saw Pathak praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting Sanatan Dharma globally.

A Call for Hindu Unity
During the event, Pathak hailed Sanatan Dharma and praised the VHRP for their efforts in promoting the religion. He promised to work “shoulder to shoulder” with the outfit, which has been campaigning for declaring India a Hindu nation. The VHRP’s national president, Gopal Rai, emphasized the need for Hindu unity, citing the slogan “Na Batenge- Na Katenge” (We will not be divided. We will not be slaughtered).

Proposals and Initiatives
The gathering passed seven resolutions, including one advocating for India to be declared a Hindu Rashtra. The VHRP also announced plans to:

– Set up a ‘Sanatani Helpline’ for Hindus in Muslim-populated areas to report problems
– Launch awareness campaigns against “love jihad” and “land jihad”
– Introduce a ‘Sanatani Sena’ or citizen army to check “land jihad”
– Open offices in Muslim areas for the protection of Hindus and their temples

Reactions and Implications
Fanning the Hindu-phobia, the event’s call for Hindu Rashtra has been connected with India’s secular constitution and potential implications for religious minorities by some anti-Hindutva news portals.  But,  there is a good support to Pathak’s stance, rejecting the chance of any threat to India’s secular fabric.

Upananda Brahmachari, a Hindutva interlocutor and Editor of Hindu Existence Website, has supported Pathak’s call, demanding that every BJP MP and MLA must advocate the cause of a Hindu Rashtra in Bharat. Brahmachari’s vision of a Hindu Rashtra is rooted in the belief that India should prioritize the interests of its Hindu population. He points to the existence of countries defined by other religions, such as 147 Christian countries and 57 Islamic countries, 1 uddhist countries and even 1 Jews Country for only 58 lakh Jews people and argues that Hindus, who comprise a significant majority in India, deserve a Hindu nation. Brahmachari demands a Hindu Rashtra not just for India’s 130 crore Hindus but also for Hindus worldwide. Furthermore, he supports Pathak’s stance and advocates for establishing a Hindu Rashtra in both India and Nepal to counter the threat of “Ghazwa-e-Hind programming of the fanatic Muslims.”

Taking his X handle Brahmachari expressed, “Making Cultural, Constitutional & Sovereign Hindu Rashtra in Bharat is the solution of all problems like terror, subversive & anti-national activities ensuring progress & development of the Nation.”

However, Brahmachari’s vision of a Hindu Rashtra differs from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s concept of “Sanskritik Hindu Rashtra” as he advocates for a “Sanskritik-Samvidhanik-Sarvabhoum Hindu Rashtra” in Bharat  Brahmachari has been advocating the concept of  Dharma-Sanskritik (cultural and righteous), Samvidhanik (Constitutional) and Sarvabhoum (Sovereign) Hindu Rashtra over a decade instead of a lame idea of a ‘Cultural Hindu state’ of RSS.

Ongoing Debate
The controversy surrounding Hindu Rashtra raises fundamental questions about the balance between religious identity and constitutional values in India in a contrast of huge increasing Muslim population and political appeasement to them in an unbelievable level.  As the discussion continues, it’s essential to consider the perspectives of various stakeholders, including politicians, religious leaders, and civil society members now contemplating on the existential threat on Hindus in different parts of India like Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, West Bengal and the North East region. The debate highlights the complexities of India’s identity and the need for a nuanced understanding of the role of religion in politics and the Hindu entity of India.
