Upendra Bharti | HENB | New Delhi | May 30, In a dramatic turn of events, Radico Khaitan has formally withdrawn its Trikal brand whisky from the market, following intense backlash from Hindu groups. However, the company’s apology and withdrawal announcement have been marred by allegations of a “big deal” with certain Hindutva organizations linked to a political party.

According to sources, despite reports of the product’s withdrawal, Trikal whisky remained widely available in the market. It appears that a deal was struck to allow Radico Khaitan to clear its stock without incurring losses, with some big Hindutva groups linked with a political party allegedly mediating the arrangement.

The controversy deepened when Hindu leader Upananda Brahmachari and his Hindu Existence Forum launched a fresh campaign to stop the sale of Trikal whisky and remove all advertisements related to the product.  The campaign gained significant support from various Hindu forums and individuals, including members of Eternal Hindus, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, SMaRT4Bharat and others including Sanjay Sharma, Ramesh Shinde and Ex CBI Director M Nageswara Rao,. Faced with mounting pressure, Radico Khaitan finally issued a formal apology and announced the withdrawal of Trikal whisky.

In a strongly worded statement, Brahmachari demanded that Radico Khaitan remove all advertisements and withdraw the product from the market, warning of a boycott if the company failed to comply. Notably, Radico Khaitan’s social media handle reportedly hid replies from Brahmachari and Hindu Existence Forum, including a demand to “check and remove all advts from its portals, X handles, and open spaces” and a warning that the company would face a boycott if it failed to act accordingly.

In its apology, Radico Khaitan claimed that the name “Trikal” was meant to honor India’s rich heritage and culture, but acknowledged that it had been misunderstood by some sections of society. The company stated that the withdrawal was a gesture of respect and reflection, and a commitment to honoring the sentiments of its people and country.

The withdrawal of Trikal whisky marks a significant victory for Hindu groups who had protested against the product. However, the controversy has exposed the complex dynamics between corporate interests and Hindu sentiments, raising questions about the role of Hindutva organizations in mediating such disputes. Now the alternative Hindutva Forces are ready to fight against the Pseudo Hindutva force and the accomplishes who work hand to hand with anti-Hindu elements.

As the Hindu Existence Forum and other like-minded organizations continue to monitor the situation, it remains to be seen whether Radico Khaitan’s apology and withdrawal will be seen as a genuine gesture of respect or a calculated move to avoid further controversy.
