Pakistan Expresses Concern Over India’s Hardline Hindutva Ideology.

Pakistan Fears Hardline Hindutva in India, Not RSS and BJP’s Soft Hindutva Appeasing Muslims.

Upendra Bharti | HENB | New Delhi | June 9, 2025 Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep concern about the growing threat posed by India’s hardline Hindutva ideology to the entire region. Speaking at a meeting on Monday at the President’s house with leaders and workers of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Zardari highlighted the increasing discrimination and hostility faced by minorities, particularly Muslims and Christians, in India.

Hardline Hindutva: A Growing Concern

The hardline Hindutva ideology, which emphasizes the supremacy of Hinduism and seeks to establish a Hindu state, has been gaining momentum in India. This ideology has led to a rise in cow vigilantism, Love Jihad, Land Jihad, and forced conversions, which have sparked tensions and violence across the country.

RSS and BJP’s Soft Hindutva

Interestingly, Zardari’s concerns about hardline Hindutva do not mention the Soft Hindutva approach of the RSS and BJP, which is perceived as an attempt to appease Muslims in India. This nuanced approach has been a subject of debate, with some arguing that it is a strategic move to garner support from minority communities, which is absolutely absurd in the BJP’s victory records in history.

Alternative Hindutva Forces

Meanwhile, alternative Hindutva forces outside the Sangha Parivar, consisting of RSS-BJP-VHP and others, are working to reign in radical minorities like Muslims and Christians. These forces are seen as a real challenge to all subversive and anti-Hindu activities committed by Muslims and Christians in India.

There are hundreds of such Hindutva outfits across the country that are gaining strength day by day without any support from the Sangha Parivar, including the BJP. These Hindutva outfits are posing a challenge to the pseudo-Hindutva of the RSS and BJP.

Regional Implications

The growing influence of hardline Hindutva ideology in India has significant implications for the region. Pakistan’s concerns about the ideology’s impact on regional stability and security are well-founded, given the history of tensions between the two countries. Pakistan fears hardline Hindutva in India as it targets Islamist forces in India promoted by its spy agency ISI and other Jihadi outfits active in the country.

The issue of hardline Hindutva ideology is complex and multifaceted, with different interpretations and implications. While some see it as a threat to minority rights and regional stability, others view it as a legitimate expression of Hindu identity and culture. As the debate continues, it remains to be seen how India will navigate the challenges posed by this ideology and its implications for the region.
