Shivam Tiwari | HENB | New Delhi | June 15, 2025:: In a shocking incident of violence, three British Hindu men were brutally assaulted in a London park by a group of men who allegedly asked them about their origin. The attack, which left two victims unconscious and all three with serious injuries, has sparked outrage and concern about rising religious tensions in the UK.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred on May 30 when the three friends, aged 20-21, were playing cricket at Harrow Recreation Ground. The situation escalated when a group of men, believed to be Muslims, confronted them, asking why they were looking at their family. The Hindu men replied that they were looking at friends playing cricket, and the situation seemed to have been defused. However, 30 minutes later, a man in his mid-20s approached them, asked about their ethnicity, and attacked them when they replied that they were Indian and Sri Lankan.

The victims suffered facial fractures, cuts, and bruises, with two of them being left unconscious. A sister of one of the victims, a British Indian Gujarati Hindu man, described the attack, saying that her brother was wearing a sacred thread from a mandir on his wrist and was brutally beaten.

The victim’s sister expressed her dissatisfaction with the police probe, stating that it had been two weeks since the incident, and the police had not checked CCTV footage. She also shared her brother’s struggles, saying that he feels ashamed to step out of the house and has had to put his clinical placement on hold.

Tory MP Bob Blackman has labelled the incident as “religious hatred,” sparking a debate about the rising tensions between different religious groups in the UK. However, the Met police have stated that there is currently no evidence to suggest that the attack was racially motivated, and their inquiries are ongoing.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of minority communities in the UK. As the investigation continues, many are calling for greater awareness and understanding between different religious groups to prevent such incidents in the future.
