T Raja Singh’s Shocking Resignation: A Blow to BJP’s Hindutva Agenda in Telangana.

T Raja Singh’s resignation from BJP shows that the so-called Hindutva party is a challenging environment for genuine Hindutva advocates.

B Upendran | HENB | Hyderabad | June 30, 2025:: The fissure in BJP’s Telangana State Unit has led to internal conflict within the party, making it a challenging place for genuine Hindutva advocates to stay. BJP’s prominent face of Hindutva, T Raja Singh in Telangana, has resigned from the party. Earlier, he was suspended from the party in 2022 for his remarks on Muhammad during the 2022 Muhammad remarks controversy, but his suspension was revoked on 22 October 2023 to allow him to contest the 2023 Telangana Legislative Assembly election. It’s a war between genuine Hindutva and pseudo-Hindutva within the BJP.

In a stunning development, T Raja Singh, a prominent face of Hindutva in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and sitting MLA in Telangana, has resigned from the party, citing deep-seated frustrations with the party’s direction and leadership. Singh’s resignation letter to Union Minister and state BJP chief G Kishan Reddy has sent shockwaves through the party’s Telangana unit, raising questions about the BJP’s ability to retain its Hindutva strongholds.

The Trigger: Appointment of N Ramchander Rao

Singh’s resignation was triggered by reports that the BJP had chosen N Ramchander Rao as the next state president. Singh expressed his disappointment and frustration, stating that the decision raises serious doubts about the party’s direction. In his letter, Singh emphasized that there are capable senior leaders within the state who have worked tirelessly for the party’s growth and have the strength and credibility to lead the party forward.

A War Within the BJP: Real-Hindutva vs Pseudo-Hindutva?

Singh’s resignation has exposed a deeper conflict within the BJP between those who claim to champion Hindutva and those perceived as pseudo-Hindutva advocates. Singh’s supporters see him as a champion of genuine Hindutva, while his detractors accuse him of divisive rhetoric. The BJP’s central leadership’s perceived preference for leaders who prioritize Muslim appeasement and sycophancy towards Prime Minister Modi has also been criticized by Singh and his supporters.

The Future of T Raja Singh and the BJP in Telangana

With Singh’s resignation, the BJP faces a significant challenge in retaining its Hindutva strongholds in Telangana. The party’s central leadership must now navigate the complex web of internal conflicts and factionalism within the state unit. Meanwhile, Singh’s future plans remain uncertain, with speculation about the possibility of him launching a new Hindu Suraksha Party.

As the BJP grapples with the aftermath of Singh’s resignation, one thing is clear: the party’s Hindutva agenda in Telangana has suffered a significant blow. Whether the BJP can recover from this setback remains to be seen.

Another source says that in his close circle, T Raja Singh expressed his dissatisfaction with PM Modi’s decision to include the overtly anti-Hindu Asaduddin Owaisi in the foreign mission for Operation Sindoor.

In a video message, T Raja Singh says it’s a suffocating environment for Hindutva activists within the BJP.

Key Quotes from T Raja Singh’s Resignation Letter

– “This decision has come as a shock and disappointment, not just to me, but to lakhs of Karyakartas, leaders, and voters who have stood by the party through every high and low.”
– “There are many capable senior leaders, MLAs, and MPs within our state who have tirelessly worked for the growth of BJP and who have the strength, credibility, and connect to lead the party forward.”
– “I remain fully committed to the ideology of Hindutva and the service of our Dharma and the people of Goshamahal. I will continue to raise my voice and stand with the Hindu community with even greater strength.”

The Implications of Singh’s Resignation

Singh’s resignation has significant implications for the BJP’s future in Telangana. The party must now contend with the loss of a key leader and the potential erosion of its Hindutva support base. As the BJP navigates this complex situation, it remains to be seen whether the party can recover from this setback and retain its relevance in Telangana’s political landscape.
