TMC Rebel MLA Humayun Kabir Announces New Party for Muslims, Aims to Contest 50-52 Seats in 2026 WB Polls for Islamic  Empowerment Ending the Hindu Dominance in Bengal Politics. 

Sonali Maity | HENB |  Kolkata | July 26, 2025:: In a significant development ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Humayun Kabir has announced the formation of a new political party. Kabir, who represents the Bharatpur constituency, confirmed that his party will be launched on January 1, 2026, and will contest in 50-52 constituencies across the state.

Kabir once created a row by calling to throw Hindus into the Bhagirathi River (after cutting them), sparking accusations of promoting communal hatred. But, TMC took no action on Kabir for his outregous remarks.

Allegedly, Kabir  wants to send a signal to Mamata Banerjee to make Islamic dominance in Bengal politics a reality, particularly in border districts adjoining Bangladesh. Under his sinister political gameplan Kabir has an absolute design to make the Hindus in West Bengal as second class citizen.

A Break from TMC

Kabir’s decision comes after repeated clashes with the TMC’s district leadership. He has been a vocal critic of the party’s leadership in Murshidabad and has defied the party line on several occasions. The TMC high command had issued a show-cause notice to Kabir, but he remains undeterred.

Expansion Plans

Kabir said his party will not be confined to Murshidabad alone and will field candidates in 50-52 seats across Murshidabad, Malda, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, and parts of Nadia. “My new party will be a force to reckon with in North Bengal’s politics,” Kabir said.

No Animosity towards Mamata or Abhishek

Despite his open rebellion, Kabir clarified that his criticism is directed solely at the district leadership. “I hold no animosity towards Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee or TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee,” he said.

Controversial Past

Kabir’s past statements have sparked controversy, including a remark about throwing Hindus into the Bhagirathi River within two hours. Critics have accused him of promoting communal hatred.

Islamic Dominance Agenda

In a shocking revelation, Kabir’s close associates claim that he wants to send a signal to Mamata Banerjee to make Islamic dominance in Bengal politics a reality. Kabir allegedly believes that with the power of minority vote banks, he could become the next Chief Minister or Deputy Chief Minister of West Bengal. In this way,  Kabir wants to make the Hindus  second class citizen in West Bengal.

TMC’s Response

The TMC has dismissed Kabir’s ultimatum to reform district leadership by August 15 as a stunt. “If he wants to float a new party, he should resign from the TMC,” a party leader said.

Kabir’s new party is set to shake up the political landscape of West Bengal, particularly in the minority-dominated constituencies. As the 2026 Assembly elections approach, all eyes will be on Kabir’s next move.
